Voter Fraud....Hmmmm.....

It is odd, but then supporters of our Labour Government were encouraged to go out to the US and campaign for Kamala Harris.

Don't take this personally, but most Americans wouldn't take recommendations from foreigners about who we should vote for. Most likely would tell them to go pound sand (either openly, or under their breath).

Saw another graphic recently that showed all the states that were won in 2020 by the Dems. Not a single one of them had Voter ID requirements. And they didn't win a single state with Voter ID laws. Hmmm....

Back in 2020 it was easy to argue that it (rampant voter fraud) was all conspiracy theory, but now, with another election to bracket the 2020 elections, it's pretty obvious there was some seriously hinky stuff going on in some states.

For those that still don't think the 2020 election was fraught with voter fraud, these numbers show a remarkable disparity between 2020 and the other recent elections....

If 78 year old is the best you have got to offer then it is a poor show, the last Gramps is even older.
Why an earth do you need a geriatric to run the country ?
Find a younger person who will make 3 terms

The source for that graph is Zero Hedge,
Zero Hedge were accused a couple of years ago by US Intelligence Officials of amplifying Russian Propaganda and taking direction from Russian Spies, Quite specific allegations.
They've never published any material that has passed an independant fact check.
They just publish Conspiracy-Pseudoscience articles without any facts.
But if you want to get your information from three crack pots in a flat in Bulgaria that's your choice.
But you may end up sat with a tin foil hat on.

A couple of years ago, everyone was accused of Russian Propaganda!

Do you have something to refute the chart?

That may be the source of the graph, but the figures seem correct if you’d care to check any other source.

So, allegations of voter fraud (whether true or not or partly true), A lottery to give people who vote a certain way a large chunk of money, attempts to assassinate candidates, failing to accept voting results and offering violence to overturn the result.

Which third world banana republic can this be?

Nothing taken personally at all. I lived in Texas - Texans view the rest of America as another country ;)

I just love the idea that the Labour Party thought they could come to the US and teach Kamala “how to win elections”, as if they have any actual knowledge to impart.

In our recent general election Labour got into power on the back of the lowest vote share of any winning party since the Second World War. The electorate didn’t vote for the Labour Party - they voted against the Conservatives.

Texans do indeed have that view. My family is from Texas, so I see it every year when I visit for the holidays.

As my mother often jokes, "Everything is bigger in Texas, especially the a--holes."

The Labour Party didn’t win the last election. The conservatives lost it with the help of farage

To be fair, if you accept that as indicating voter fraud, it shows proportionately similar fraud on both sides.

However, to build a stronger case that it was fraud, I think you’d need to compare to other places that ran elections during COVID, with large numbers of people working from home, not working or mailing in ballots. You need to rule out that it’s just an effect of it being much easier for people to vote because they didn’t have to go out to work, or were mailing in ballots.

I think the fact that both D and R votes went up so much suggests that there are other reasons that need ruling out.

I’m cynical enough to expect that there is always some fraud, but that it is largely balanced out because both sides are at it. I think to claim that only one side is dirty is very naive.

The other thing that’s probably worth doing is showing longer term trends, rather than just those few years.

A criticism commonly levelled against climate change activists is that the estimate of change (or lack of it) can be quite influenced by where you start the line.

If you look at the data going back through to the start of the 20th century, 2020 sits fairly comfortably close to the regression line - it does not stand out as an anomaly in the way it appears to if you restrict the data to just the last 4 elections. When you do look at the full data set, 2024 is the weird one because of the big drop in D votes.

Of course it’s only weird if you were expecting a Harris victory (I wasn’t - it was clear from July that the Democrats were going to lose. The only question was how badly).

It was like the recent general election here, the Democrat vote collapsed rather than the Republican vote surging.

Your point would be valid, except that most states still have COVID based voting policies in place. So, where did they all go? Traditionally, red voters always have lower turn out, and blue always more turn out. Yet in 2020, the red based was fired up. Things don't add up.
