We have had in the past people who have registered to become a Coach, undertaken the training and moved to the assessment phase only to realise that they don't have the experience required to become a coach. If they have completed the safe shot award, we know they can safely handle a shotgun and understand the basics of law, if they have the Safety Officer qualification we know that they understand how to safely set up a shoot and understand the law.

No other reason, than we do not want to waste their time and money and our time and money. The same as if you want to go to a Good University, you need to have GCSE's and good A-level results before they will let you in.

Have you people not read The Classified Rules Summary at the top of the page? They're quite clear! Show some respect or expect to be banned! Manners cost nothing!

Sorry but that just smacks of commercialism and is all rather lame.

F
How can it smack of commercialism if we are turning people away who do not have the experience or qualifications to take part in the course. Safe shot costs £20 and the Safety Officers course is £90; these assessments and courses are primarily run by third party trainers.

It would certainly qualify as suitable experience. I suggest that you give Jane a call next week if you are interested.

Many thanks, Peter
