Wanted: WANTED… Browning A-Bolt magazine retention spring

Hi all

I’ve a trusty old Browning A-Bolt that has a broken spring on the hinged floor plate to clip the detachable box magazine into

It’s a long shot but does anyone have a spare one laying around.

To my surprise Browning have been absolutely useless and no one in the UK seems to stock what is a $5 part in the U.S

Think unless someone is scrapping one think Midwest in the USA $5 is your best bet , maybe one of the guys on the site could post one to you feller

That would be ideal… Midwest won’t sell to the U.K

Mine is broken too. At the moment my gunsmith is trying to adjust a newer spring on to the gun. Alternatively I thought I use a glue gun and fix the magazine at the bottom of the floor plate. It might work...

I’ve never heard of Midwest until a google brought them up. I have an A-bolt 2 and hope mine holds.

For information, I just received my rifle back from the gunsmith. They adapted a diferent spring which looks much more robust. I am hopeful this will sort the issue out. The magazine seems to be nice and secure in the well plate, so fiungers crossed.
