Wasted Roe Doe ?

I shot a roe doe recently , sorry no pictures, and on doing the gralloch she had a thin sticky yellow membrane throughout her internal cavity but no smell. Her udder still had milk as she had two followers who were taken later. Everything else was normal all the nodes, how she was acting before the shot etc. I’ve never encountered this before in 30 years of stalking, there is no OSR however there is clover in the surrounding pastures. There was no fat around the kidneys or in the body cavity, but body condition was good weight wise. I did think it was maybe the start of her laying down fat for the winter but didn’t use the carcass. I’ve read the other threads about the yellow colouration in roe but in the photos they appeared clean in the body cavity. Was this a waste of a roe

I think that the yellow colouration has previously been explained by an infection near that area of the meat. But it is generally localised. Shame you don't have pics as it sounds weirdly interesting.

Was this attached to the body wall or covering the intestines? The momentum is a thin membrane that covers all of the intestines (the caul in some places) it should look slightly lacy, but shouldn't be sticky or yellow. The sticky could imply a high protein content in the peritoneum, as if she's had an infection. One for the bin!

Thanks Buchan, It was within the intestinal cavity surrounding the intestines including the udder, not the nice lacy white fat that you would wrap your faggots in, more a yellow sticky membrane. Really wish I had the phone with me to photograph it but it was one of they days I deliberately left it at home , just me n the dog.
