Wet Bullets

Hi All,
I’ve been out on the hill and it’s been wet.
The bullets that I’ve not fired have got damp.
What do folk generally do with damp bullets?
Will it affect them?

JTR300 you're obviously talking about ammunition and not just bullets.
You shouldn't have a problem with damp ammunition, just wipe it off and use it.

However ammunition that has undergone a prolonged soaking such as if it has been submerged for some time should be treated as potentially suspect even if it has lacquer sealed primers and bullets. Then I would set it aside and use it for practise.

I was crossing the shallow end of a loch on the way to the high seat when the quick release swivel on my sling broke and the rifle fell into the water, completely submerged. Back to base clean rifle dry ammunition then back out to the high seat After an hour a stag came out of the trees and I shot him with one of the bullets that I dried.
So carry on.

When I bulk reload prior to rifle matches,I wash off the silicone spray I use as case lube from my loaded rounds with hot soapy water. I put hundreds of rounds in the sink, squirt with fairy liquid, get it soapy and drain the sink. Then dry them on towels in the kitchen floor. Been doing this for years.
