I tried the CCI in everything I had. Burned up 400 rounds trying to get some good groups. Admittedly, I would sometimes get a good group going and have 1 to 3 of them go wild weasel on me. I could see the bullet fly away from the point of aim. The German Gunstock Company has a vid on their T1X and the guy is shooting an amazing 100 yard, indoor group til round #4 that goes inch low and right. The other 9 cut each other. This is the kind of flier I get. No good reason. My Tikkas didn't shoot it, my girlfriends Ruger Precision hated it. (badly) and my Ruger American sporter -another accurate rifle- wouldn't group it at all. I'd run 20-40 rounds through each one before testing for group. Nada.
Federal Ultra Match, which I was recently told was rebranded R50, will shoot tiny, tiny groups. The bullet always lands on the opposite side of the cross hair. If I'm doing my job they are all in the same hole. I love rimfires. If a gun gives me circular .6" groups at 50 yards I'm happy. Happier than one that gives me 4 in a bug hole and one .6 out.~Muir
The 22LR’s can be fickle beasties as I have been getting good groups with the CCI’s in my T1X, it does seem to shoot most of the ammo types pretty well though...Very impressed with it so far.
