Oh dear its gone again...I thought at last admin had seen sense and dispensed with the horrible 30 minute edit window...but hey ho it is back again. Nice for the time it lasted....

Excuse me? :worried:
Yesterday I was able to edit after the 30 minute cut off period. In fact so surprised was I that I looked back at some earlier posts from months ago and was offered the opportunity to edit those as well..was it not intentional on your part?

True...but you know the old definition of witty repartee..."what you wished you had said" be nice to remembered for the bon mot or slick aphorism rather than than codswallop...
L'esprit de l'escalier, as we used to say before Brexit

Than than

A case in point...39 minutes and forever around my neck like the albatross...whereas if I had spotted it on the way downstairs I could have done something about it....

The moving finger writes; and, having writ,
moves on. Nor all they piety nor wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a line,
Nor all they tears wash out a word of it.

See? now if only you weren't outside the accursed 30 minute window....

Old Omar be turning in his grave now...

Must admit I am half a bottle of finest Bio-dynamic Alsace Silvaner better off than I was earlier so that may account for this thread...

How long, how long, in infinite Pursuit
Of This and That endeavour and dispute?
Better be merry with the fruitful Grape
Than sadden after none, or bitter, Fruit.

Ah...sorry.

I have just realised why I was able to edit my posts after the 30 minute period yesterday in the Ben rodge's thread about the P94S ejector spring. I had not noticed that the thread was in the Firearms Components of the Classified Section.

As was the other post I linked to from it of a few months ago...

I had understood it was only the OP who could edit indefinitely in classifieds.

Sorry, blame it on the wine...I do.

I may be misreading your concern?

The singular “they” is a generic third-person pronoun used in English.

*Sigh*
The worldly hope men set their hearts upon
Turns ashes - or it prospers; and anon,
Like snow upon the desert's dusty face
Lighting a little hour - is gone.

I'll see your *Sigh*, and raise/heave you one *ennui*...

Think, in this batter'd Caravanserai
Whose Doorways are alternate Night and Day,
How Sultán after Sultán with his Pomp
Abode his Hour or two, and went his way.

One Moment in Annihilation's Waste,
One Moment, of the Well of Life to taste -
The Stars are setting and the Caravan
Starts for the Dawn of Nothing - Oh, make haste!
