What do you do for positional practice?

Appreciate that, but as I say, it bears. I relation to what I do in the field. There’s never really any stress when I’m shooting in the field, or at least I’m so used to it I don’t notice it, so timed drills wouldn’t do much for me.
Yeah I could see that. I’m originally from the states so my hunting experience is basically having two tags (deer and elk) and having limited time to fill them. There always seems to be pressure whether it’s internal or competition on public land. Now in the UK I’m hoping to get into stalking and see what it’s like over here. Reading this site shows that it’s going to be a learning curve but I’m looking forward to the journey.

I like carrying a rifle everywhere but dont go to Sainsbury's with one, phew, that was a long day!

Offhand, with anything, regularly.
( I still freaking can mis them though 🙄)
Like the young lady in the video, missing an egg off hand at 300 yards…..Didn’t take her log to kill it though.

There is a lot more involved in other types of shooting re timing, decoying pigeons/crows/ducks is a prime example not only the lead required also when to start getting into the shooting movement/mount as they like stalking the movement is what will catch you out.
Running around like Chuck Norris will only get you one thing, the backend of a deer bouncing off.
Muntjac will come out for around max 15mins and be on the move, if a buck is following a doe he will be behind her and follow along. If he is on his own then he will grab a bite then move, if this is a hedge line then I often get in front of them walking and wait until they walk into the scope then stop them. The timing of that shot is around 2/3 seconds which works for me.
As we say in "Essex don't **** around shoot it"

I suppose her reply was, "no but your smooth talking has convinced me". ;)

David.
Quite correct, it was on the Mt Tambourine Mountain (Qld) tourist rd and a tour bus came down hill over looking the small area I parked in. ONE person saw the act unfolding from the bus window then was gone.

Totally different kettle of fish.

Either you have a permission and you agree with the landowner what you take off each year, you then come and go as you need depending on seasons of quarry.

Or you are paying as part of a syndicate generally meaning the syndicate manager sets a target with the landowner and you help the syndicate achieve the target.

Or you pay for a guided stalk, which is basically pay and play.

100 yards off Blaser quad sticks, no rush.
Reasons, only have access to 100 yard range, too old to do all that grovelling around on the ground nonsense, a hurried shot can be a dangerous shot, so not in any rush. Often used the DSC 1 & WB practice targets.
