Every month my little bit of country porn drops through the door. I can't help it, I'm an addict. I can't live without The Field. I know, ideas above my station but it's only place you can find highland estates advertised...I have to have my monthly drool.
Trouble is, it doesn't end there...then theres the Shooting Gazette which I find difficult to resist when I see it. Then good old ST, it's the only one they sell in the local garage so you kind of have to get it every few weeks. Sporting Rifle when I have to go to Inverness...really should get a subscription. Farmers Weekly as old habits die hard...and my boy likes to look at the machinery (OK, I do too)

I think what everyones pointing to and what perhaps should be pointed out to the 'editor' of sporting rifle is that the articles and the 'editing' are sadly lacking. Don't know where they dredged up some of the contributors, but for my money most can go back whence they came.
It is improving slowly and maybe its suffering from a lack of submissions so they have to print what they can get.
Personally I'd love to see an account or two in there from Sikamalc both at home and abroad plus the contributions of one or two other members who frankly have written mini articles on here that put pieces in SF to shame.
Oh and they can ditch Peter wotsisface too as he's had far too much advertising already and his face annoys me...
and yes before someone says it I would be prepared a piece myself: I wonder what they pay per article.....?
I would like to see a competition on here for article writing. The four or so best articles get printed in the Sporting Rifle.
I read one article about a chap who wrote about what dvd’s he had watched and how bored he was, sat in a caravan all weekend because it was too stormy outside to stalk! Unbelievable! I wonder how much he got paid for penning that classic. :???:
Has anyone read my little story 'Up The Hill And Back Again'? Its somewhere in the dusty corner of the General Discussion section. Not a bad read.....'I'm waiting for Speilberg to phone me for the film rights.
it takes me that long to type that i missed your posting as frax and i were so engrossed so apoligies for excluding you
yes i agree the shooting times does seem to go in circles about every couple of years the sam articles seem to appear but for a weekly it probaly is hard to keep things interestying as when the season has ended and all we want to read about it shooting
