barrel length: 23"
twist rate: 1:10?
bullet weight: 130gr
range the rifle is used to: to where the deer is! 25-150yds ordinarily

rifle make: Tikka
Cartridge: 300WM
barrel length:24"
twist rate: 1:11 )I think)
bullet weight: 185gr
range the rifle is used to: same as above but more comfortable taking it out to 300+ if I had to (never plan on that though!)

Two remmy 700's one in 260 (22" barrel) one in 308 (20"barrel) Schmidt & bender pm2 on the 308 and a march on the other , the 308 is a heavy cow whereas the 260 is a lightweight.

1-10 on the 308 168 bullet
1-8 on the 260. 140 bullet

ill refrain from shot distance.

very disapointed pete thats way to big a cal for head shots at 700 yards.

ps:

anyone using a 6.5/47 on the hill.

just a thought, as it seems to be in favour down here.

I think one of the guys in my area was planning on rebarreling his knackered .243 to it. From what I know it should be a good round for hill use shoots flat enough and those 6.5 mm bullets shrug the wind well.

Ahhh Sikadog,

Knibbs book claims 1 in 8.66" four groove right hand twist for the 6.5x55.

Which I believe is standard Swedish specs.
