The EU isn't an empire. Every independent member state in it chose to join. It's a ridiculous comparison.

Their governments may have done but not so sure about the population ?

Whilst a lot is made of the schengen zone and the Euro the greatest achievement was the standardisation of the phone chargers to the mini USB port. Apart from that I'm struggling what else been achieved in 20 years. Australia isn't part of the EU and somehow we are surviving.

However, 'remain' politicians tell us that inclusive of other important nations i.e. USA, Canada, Australian & NZ politicians are saying we should remain part of the EU.

Frankly, the last thing I'd do is listen to any politician....least of all, one from another country.

My choice to exit the EU has already been made & made on the basis of my personal dislike of the political and judicial interference in UK affairs, by those who I view as having no right at all to do so.
When we voted to join the Common Market in the early 1970's, it was to ease European trade barriers and that was publicly acceptable.

The idiotic politicians taking us into further what became EEC & now EU had no public mandate to get into these subsequent agreements.
Trade agreements are one thing, what has followed since is quite another and something we as A nation should get out of at this opportunity.

This video is perhaps the most clear and concise sumation of the real situation.

i find it very telling of the Leave campaign that when a video like this is posted, clearly and calmly putting forward the intelligent reasons for not leaving, nobody replies or refers to the argument.

I have not seen the video because before I invest 25minutes of my time I would like to know something about the person concerned it appears that Michael Duggan,s entire career is EU law and the link between UK/EU so it seems he is not unbiased as if it is an exit vote he could have problems finding someone to employ him ?
He says that in the video that he had not mentioned Immigration as he ran out of time and then goes on to describe what he thinks,this is either not complete or for some reason not accurate. He says there are three types of immigration but no economic migrants.This I know to be untrue as I for many years owned a post office and spent lots of time handing out taxpayers money to these people for numerous different benefits also supplying E111 for people from Eastern Europe who used them to go on holiday to other EU countries or go home for treatment that we paid for.
I am not convinced either way about Exit/remain but would prefer to hear from someone who does not have a vested interest
I do not consider this man to be the Messiah that remain are trying to pretend he is, but it would be nice to hear from either side people who have an opinion but do not have an ulterior motive for saying what they say ?

The constant arguing between the two camps has really achieved very little, both sides have been guilty of the old magicians trick of distraction, but I do feel the remain more so than the leave. I based my vote, already done, on what I believe to be true which I shall out line quickly.

I believe the EU is sick with no prospect of recovery, the euro is in a dreadful state and set to get worse with economies floundering within the Eurozone. These economies will need baling out, where is the cash going to come from, the euro pot of pennies into which we pay, and that rubbish that we are outside the euro zone and it does not apply to us is just that, rubbish. The whole thing looks set fair to cost us more.

Trade will not stop the day after we leave, we are a big customer who will not want to be lost by EU commerce.

The NHS will not finish the day after we leave, all the immigrants that work there will still work there, unless of course they so disgusted that we left they voluntarily pack up and go home, yeah right.

Immigration is not a matter of hatred or racism it is a matter of logistics, we are an island with a finite amount of room and we are almost full up, something has to be done. Immigration will not cease but continue with the us deciding who we let in, not Brussels. Immigration is the tricky one, the big elephant in the room it is too easy for each side to use it as a big stick to bash the other but it needs, must, be faced and a solution found.

The stress and strain on our services and infrastructure is down to overcrowding and a lack of resources, which seemingly we are unable to bring in from the outside because of EU regulations.

I do not think that our relationship with Europe has ever been an easy one, and I am fearful that if after the referendum we remain there will be a whole raft of legislation/regulations that will be detrimental to us. I am for out.

I suspect it had less to do with being stunned with its eloquency - more that it has all been said over and over - it ultimately boils down to a gut reaction and what you hold most dear

There is little more to add to the argument - time to vote and live with the consequences

We have only very recently realised the position of a globel econamy. We are probably 20-30 years in to this realisation so very very young

BIG issues like polution, sustainabuility and climate have to be dealt with on a global scale.

I think big issues need to be dealt at the local scale, or at least on a national scale. Who else is going to implement it let alone pay for it?
