What to put in deer feeder?

Looking to put up a few camera traps and the drain pipe type feeders.

Question is, what should I put in the feeders?

I have a Countrywide shop near me. Could I use some sort of horse feed such as horse/pony nuts?

I don't want to feed anything that might be detrimental to the Deer's health

When l have put out deer feeders all l use is wheat, just watch any pheasant feeder in areas where deer are present they will be on it, easy pickings.

I have seen plenty of deer on the wheat feeders, but a few people have told me that it isn't good for them...???

I used a home made mix of flaked maize rolled peas and rolled oats for roe deer . Once they were used to coming to the feeders added rolled soya as well .
some of the goat keepers apple flavoured minerals is a good attractant if a bit pricey

We buy it by the ton for the roe, a deer pellet supplied by Marsdens. Once the roe find it they love it, I set up a deer feeding station next to a pheasant feeder, to get them started. I have seen roe dying by gorging themselves on wheat.

maze is also good.
set up your feeder at least 0.5m off the ground so you don't just feed the badgers.
