What viht powder for .22-250?

Kind hard to avoid using terminology when majority of RFD you ask for
“ bullets” pull out factory ammo .... it’s not till you ask for “heads” that you get box for reloading
So what do you do ?
Use heads

Paul

No! You should correct them - Accepting ignorance just perpetuates it!

Ian

Yes ..... correct away .... but if they decide to ignore you and not pay heed ... as is often the case... guess what?
You go in ... you ask again for bullets & they pull out factory ammo .

You can take a horse to water .... can’t make it drink

Paul

Who cares what there called? If that’s what’s getting you upset you have too much time on your hands!!
Because calling Bullets ‘heads’ is incorrect and the head of a cartridge is at the base of the case. If you decide to join a car forum and insist on calling an alternator an exhaust the people there would think you were mad.
why should shooting be any different?

N160 is on the slow side for the 22.250 .
i have used it in the past it’s more suited for 270 .
N140 36grs cci large primer 55 gr Sierra game king .

If I ask for bullets and am presented with ammuntion I say, with a look suggestive of slight confusion, 'No - just bullets, please.'
This either results in my being brought bullets instead, or opens the way for a brief and potentially-constructive educational dialogue.
:)

Or

Obviously I have better things or more going on in my life to worry about or more important... & I just says heads ....

More somebody tries to correct me .... more I’ll use it.....

Obviously some folks don’t have much else going on in their lives....🤔😂😂😂

Paul

I dont use the term "bullet heads", and I dont mean to denigrate those who do.
And for the people who do use the term "bullet heads", denigrate means to "put down".

Hahahahahahahaaaaaa!!.. Your sense of humour may be more effective than you think 'Orion'.. That was Well Done and just might sting a few into the use of correct terminology, (assuming that is that they "get" the joke!?

How the flaming heck we address those - potentially ignorant - RFDs and selling online folk who persist in the use of terms like"heads" where they mean bullets/projectiles/the bits that come out of the rifle barrels to do whatever downrange I just do not know.. They are more to blame in the continuation of this misnomer because of their positions of trust and high visibility. They should understand that they are effectively educating people in their areas of influence due to their priveledge situations and this SHOULD depend on giving those listening GOOD & CORRECT information.

After all, if one were to go to a car parts retailer for a set of piston rings but one ASKS for circlips, who is in the wrong when one gets back home to one's garage, opens the box of parts and discovers the items are perfect, but NOT of any use to the job in hand... It should NOT be a problem to follow correct naming, in fact I would see it as the simple application of specialised (hobby) language in an effort to make oneself clear and concise in explanations and conversation with everyone on the SAME page.

ATB ....... and launch your heads safely

This thread had been dead for 15 months. N140 is great. I don’t care if anyone calls bullets bullet heads. Life’s too short. Move on.
