What's the best .243 rifle

I have the SPS Varmint in 243 and I love it. Shoots great with factory Hornady ammo which is all I've ever shot in it.

I use an X Bolt that I had re-crowned otherwise bog standard. Shot a few deer with this thing. Don't be kidded modern rifles accuracy and reliability great value for the money.

The reason I put this post up was just to get various opinions. Any shop I visit will say buy xyz. That's because it's what they have on the shelf. Anyone else who has a rifle will say to get the same as them!
I have a Howa at the moment but not 1 person has mentioned Howa.
But I have a few different guns to look at now.

Probably an oversight Dan as there's not a lot wrong with a Howa that can't be easily fixed should you see the need to improve on the out of the box rifle.

Hi 8x57
My howa groups as well as any rifle I have shot.
To be honest I think I will probably get another just for nv! It has had a trigger job from Brock and norris
And they re crowned it and threaded it.
Otherwise it's standard.

I'm thinking of changing my 243. I have a Ruger 77 that shoots 1/2 inch groups but I find it that little bit heavy for a 243 with a mod attached. No need for that weight in the low kicking 243.

I'm leaning towards a T3 Lite with the adjustable comb. I wish CZ would make a 243 somewhere in-between the dimensions of 527 and 550, that would be my ideal 243.

I have a Bergarer with walnut stock. 22" inch barrel.
Basically its a sorted out Remington 700 action with an Ed schillen barrel.
£ 760 brand new, had a Sako but thought it was overpriced and over fussy for what its designed for, this is as accurate as you can get.

Good to hear some feedback. I like the look of these!

Sauer .243 Classic as stood me in good stead now for best part of 20yr. Spare .308 barrel and bolt, easy breakdown & set up. Soon back on zero travel near, far & wide :)!! Good luck with whatever you decide on

I'm on my second weatherby vanguard mk 2 and think the brilliant. I'm a big fan of 2 stage triggers which I struggled to fine in a lot of other makes

Just worked out that I've owned a Tikka M590 varmint in .243 for nearly 25 years and shot close to a millenium of deer and many hundreds of foxes for the first 7 years or so. The rifle still shoots perfect, probably 0.5 minute with homeloads. Can't say anymore than that. If you find an early Tikka that's in good condition you know you have a rifle that will last.

I prefer Sako or Tikka, (there's my personal preference out of the way). I've got a couple and like the familiar feel even when picking up different calibres. There's a lot to be said for familiarity.
You've already stated you own a Howa and it works well for you. Why are you looking further than another Howa??
