Which factory makes 9.3 x 64 calibre rifles?

Yeah yeah I know everyone makes the `62 version but thats not what I`m really interested in,only the `64 is floating my boat atm.
I see Voere make the calibre but Mauser dont,if they did I would take an M12...but!

Check out Holts auctioneers John. they sell a lot of firearms, most of the bigger calibres are double rifles though.

Ah the 66 is not what I want thanks.

There is a 270 Voere here for sale under $500AUD atm..they dont hold their price it seems.

Buying from OS Sinny (holts) then becomes a pita exercise...no thanks.

I have seen decent availability of older Husqvarna rifles in 9x57 and 9.3x57.
Contact Muir, as he is into these, and could advise on rechambering a 9.3x57mm to 9.3x64.

To my mind, that size case is at its limits with a 250-gr bullet; it does much better in the .35 Whelen and .338-06 with a notch down in weight. If you want to use 250 or 286-gr bullets, the 9.3x62 is great.

The 9.3x64 is a beast, on par with the 375 HH.
Apparently the Russians made a Druganov version with the cartridge to be able to penetrate body armour at 600m.

Have a read of the following.. as prev mentioned the `62 isnt the calibre that I am after.

RWS factory loads for the 9.3x64 are supplied with 247, 285, and 293 grain bullets. The 247 grain RWS soft point bullet is loaded to a muzzle velocity (MV) of 2760 fps and muzzle energy (ME) of 4178 ft. lbs. The 285 grain RWS soft point bullet has a MV of 2690 fps and ME of 4590 ft. lbs. The heavy 293 grain RWS soft point bullet is loaded to a MV of 2590 fps and ME of 4298 ft. lbs.

Musgrave are making rifles on the vz24 action. I don't think they currently list 9,3x64 but it may be worth speaking to them as I think a few 9,3x64s were built on vz24s in the past.

Otherwise CZ used to, Voere used to and I believe it was a Blaser R93 option too.

The 9,3x64 was indeed the German version of the 375 H&H . Recoil will be in the same class. Not a rifle to do much prone shooting.

Performance wise it is very close to the 375 H&H John, would it not be easier to go the 375 route or is the 9.3x64 an itch you have to scratch mate??

At the moment there are a Sauer 90, Voere Titan and a Mauser 98 on E-gun for sale in 9.3x64. http://www.egun.de/market/list_items.php?mode=qry&plusdescr=off&wheremode=and&query=9,3x64&quick=1

The 9.3x64 was said to be much better for repeating/bolt actions as belted cartridges and should feed better.

ejg Importing one is a costly pain here, many hurdles to jump also.

Jabali..I listed the Voere in my initial thread thus was aware of them, they are not however an M12 quality I believe

Sinny... is the 9.3x64 an itch you have to scratch mate??

Yep,thats it mate...375 H+H down here are like arseholes..you know the rest ha ha

RWS tests with a 25.6 inch barrel, and if one assumes realistic loads which produce the same energy, I would expect the 286-gr to be more like 2,580 fps, and the 293-gr at 2,500 fps, and 225-gr at 3,000 fps - all still potent.

If you are considering building one, the magazine length on a 98 Mauser will be tight, even with round nosed bullets. A commercial FN action would offer a bit more magazine and bolt stroke, and a Remington 700 long action even better. The Remington would be simple and not costly to barrel, and no magazine modifications.

The Steyr S is has a long barrel and is pretty heavy in all its chamberings, which may be preferred for the recoil. The Remington 700 with a standard barrel and stock is less than 8 lbs in .375 H&H.

I imagine you have plenty of Parker Hales out here, could you squeeze it in to one them? It's less than a mm longer than 270 or 30-06 and that's what the PH's come in. Obviously the 9.3x64 is wider but with a 17.78mm (0.7") bolt you won't have problems there. There will be considerable work to get it to feed but I think it'll fit.

I need to know exactly as to "which one" to buy to enable without a heap of work. Some have the mag length and some dont,as to which well thats what I need to know.
