Which gaiters?

I have a pair of the old Kammo gaiters which are still good but showing their age, I got a pair of the Swazi gaiters a couple of years ago which have had dogs abuse but still look like new. Hands down the most robust gaiters available, highly recommended

How about making your own?
I've got a really good canvas pair that I've been using for 30 years. Still going strong, although I've had to do a few minor repairs. The construction of them is very simple, so if / when they do need replacing I intend to carefully unpick all the stitching and use the component parts as templates to make another pair.
:-| A Welsh sheep farmer eh? Strong homemade canvas gaiters

avoid black islander, had the boots and gaiters, boots leaked badly, second new designed pair worse.the strap on the gaiters split and the buckle fell apart.very expensive rubbish.

Me too seem very robust but are in black which is the only potential downside as not a very hunting colour
Yes really strong, they take ice climbing whilst wearing crampons which is about as much hassle as you can give any kit. My current pair are about 7 yrs old and have been hammered but still are like new. I hose em down whilst wearing them and every now and again wash them with tech wash. Appreciate they are black as opposed to green but to be honest a ‘dark’ colour below the knee doesn’t cause me too much grief ‍♂️

Another benefit of Yetis is if ur boots start to leak towards the end of there life, stick a pair off Yetis on and good to go for another few seasons.

Great way to extend the life of a pair off boots if still otherwise comfy but leaking.
Done that to a few pairs. 1 pair off rubbish harkillas u could walk throu a burn despite the fact u could poke 4 fingers throu the hole above heel

The only problem with Yetis is sometimes u have to trim the soles so thegaiters fit better and sometimes silicon the toes on so they don't ride up which can be a problem on non Berghaus boots but easy solved

Regarding the Yeti's has anyone had much success in fitting them to a pair of Meindl Dovre Extreme?? I have used Yetis for years but they were only ever used with an old pair of Berghaus boots, in the end I used silicone to fit them to those boots. Currently using Mountain Hardware ones on the Meindl's but would prefer Yetis again if they are likely to stay on. Anyone??

I am using Yeti gaiters on my Meindl Vakuum boots.

About to start season five beating, 40+ days per season, they are also my stalking boots. The Yeti gaiters fit well, IMO, but do tend to slip off the toe of the boot on occasions, usually when going through clear-fell etc., which is not surprising.

I have found that cleaning the toe of the boot, and inside the gaiter rubber, with IPA ( Isopropyl alcohol - Wikipedia ) really helps to stop slippage.

Steve.

Aye got them on my dovres. Sole needs a wee touch trimming about the arch.
The toe does ride up, it does need some silicon or something and probably something not to sticky so u can peel them off every now and again to dry/treat boots
