Finch you mentioned the similarities between the stock of the Parker Hale1200 and the BSA CF2, this is probably because I am led to believe that they both came from the same Italian factory.
I had a CF2 in .243win also. It was brand new but shop soiled only in that the RFD tried it with a box of ammo himself. That rifle I bought for the grand sum of £25 in 1988 when the dealer decided not to sell any more guns and just to concentrate on his sports shop.
