I bought the binatone terrain 550's from Macro..

Reduced from £33.99+vat to £19.99

8km range and 32hr battery life (rechargeable)

Sauer,

I have a pair of these from Maplin.

http://www.maplin.co.uk/wt91x-professional-waterproof-pmr-2pk-228961

The are rechargable from either mains or cigarette lighter (no need to buy transformers etc.) They are waterproof and can be operated silently, or with an earpiece (included)

Not had them long but they've been good so far. Range is good and they are robustly built. They cost a bit more than I wanted to spend but thought they looked a step up in quality from other stuff (in Maplins)

Cheers,

Bob

HI sauer got the info from a lidl leaflet from behind the cash till . the radios not on sale till the 28th so i think info will be on line from monday the week before thay go on sale:tiphat:

Intraride do a fantastic radio, we use them when out shooting and for bike to bike comms when touring on a motorbike. we have had clear comms at over 8 miles in towns so expect much greater distances in fields. we use throat mikes and ear pieces when shooting as this allows you to wisper but still be heard. both radios have also been wet and had no problem although they are not waterproof.

hi folks thanks for all the replies

i went for the 19 quid binatone 550 all terrains in the end from makro......actually argos doing them for 16 quid just now but no argos near me for 100 miles got em in!!!!!

IMHO the most inportant thing is that they have an eye to put a lanyard through the clips are crap We have lost no end but since getting radios with a hole for a lanyard and buying a job lot from the gun smiths we have not lost one. Would not buy one now without.
