whos running 590/595 in 6mm br

What i wanted to ask was ............ can you use a 3 shot in line .243 mag to load the 6mm br or does it need a spacer.

Good morning Bob. We have built many 6mmbrs on tikka 590/595 actions and have used the 243 mags and also 22.250 mags. The 22.250 mags worked well ,the 243 did require a little fettling to get 100% reliable feeding from them. The best solution we found was to use the 5 shot steel 223 magazines and alter the feed lips ( ie open them so the round presents correctly to the bolt face to strip and feed into the chamber) and they worked faultlessly . Bob. I have a 595 in 6BR.

It feeds faultlessly using the 22.250 mag. ( both the 3 and 5 shot mags )

I would have thought you would have to modify the 243 mag to get it to consistantly feed.
