Can anyone shed some light on why renewals are taking so long ? I understand that the Police are looking at people’s suitability since the Plymouth tragedy , but how can it take months longer than it previously did .
My experience in Scotland is the the Police send out a reminder about 3 months before a current certificate expiresCan anyone shed some light on why renewals are taking so long ? I hope that BASC advertise this same day variation well before the next GamecFair, and also state which Forces licensing departments will provide the service. A win all round. Encouragement to shooters interested in swapping a firearm to attend. Encouragement to RFDs to attend a bring a good selection of stock. Encouragement to the licensing departments too, as they have the opportunity to deal with the demand for variations quickly and efficiently on the day.Have had to deal with Police Scotland and Essex recently - both fantastic. Plus, Essex and Met (and I think a couple more but forget) turned out for The Game Fair last year and did a same day variation so that shooters could find and purchase a rifle there and then. That's brilliant service. Sorry if your area isn't so good but right to give a shout out where things are running really well.
Except that pretty much everyone, over the age of 18, applying for a certificate is already paying for the police in the precept part of the council tax. Some things take time, simple.
Some folks seem to think the world revolves around them.
Home office set the price of the certificates and all that goes with it.
If a profit was to be made from it you would be paying 5-600 pounds for your co term certs.
