Rats. Two batteries, charged both yesterday, out this morning one flat, one barely anything. The charging port is quite narrow so I assumed it was this. However one is still flat. Closer look and it’s knackered. Ive seen other post saying don’t leave the in so this is by way of a reminder

Hello, You might find the one that is broken and not usable has some internal 18650 batteries inside, if that is so you could use in a torch
Just been checking my user instructions and it says nothing about not leaving the batter in when not in use. My FLIR with integral battery is OK so why are these a problem? @Blackwood Outdoors or Scott County - any thoughts?

I had a glitchy battery that I got with my 2nd hand xm30 - it sometimes had a dodgy connection and wouldn't turn on.
I used a needle to fiddle with the little connectors and got it working eventually. It works fine now with and still holds a good charge.
I've got 3 batteries now and I rotate them. Never had an issue with leaving them in. A bit of grease or saliva on battery seals helps them to seat properly I find.
