Zeiss Diatal D Reticle Adjustments

Can anyone help with the procedure for adjusting the reticles on older Zeiss scopes for elevation and windage? I don't have any instructions and it's not obvious.
Below the turret caps on the dials are 4 screws, 3 black and 1 silver:

There was a thread between Brithunter and 2-dead-in-the-air in 2011 but the instructions weren't added or linked to the thread.

Many thanks to 2-dead-in-the-air for digging out the user guide that Zeiss sent him in 2011. For anyone else's future enlightenment, I've attached the document below. This applies to Diasta, Diatal and Diavari scopes from (I think) the late 60s to around 1980.

I have an old Carl Zeiss 1.5-6x42 Diavari scope with one turret on the top. The instructions above look like they should work on my scope.

As I read them I should be able to adjust Elevation by loosening the silver screw and turning the knurled disc (#4). Making the adjustment and tightening the silver screw.

The 3 painted screws are loosened to adjust Windage and turning the knurled disc (#4). Adjusting then tightening the 3 painted screws.

After making elevation changes the index line (#5) can be set at mark (#6) as a reference point.

Do you know if this is a correct interpretation?

I have been able to move the elevation adjustment.

However when I loosen the 3 painted screws nothing moves.

Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong? As I don't want to damage anything or back the 3 screws out too far.

If there is only one turret on the top you can only adjust elevation.
Windage has to be corrected via a support mount.
The painted screws only hold the scale wheel on the turret. This can be zeroed by loosening said screws after you have adjusted the reticles elevation.

Ok, it didn't make sense that one turret could do both. There are a couple screws on the rear base but I thought they held the claw mount to the scope.

Thanks I will look closer at the rear base mount.

There‘s a slit head screw on the left and another on the right hand side of the rear support. If you want to tighten one you first have to loosen the other as they are countering each other. Good luck.

Thanks, I was just looking at them, now it all makes sense. I'll have to take it to the range and do some fine tuning!
