Zero issues with hikmirco alpex

A 10 shot string is enough.I use the FX Chrono, send everything to your phone live.
Even a rivethead like me can use it & set up an Alpex so all is not lost for me🤣🤣

So would you expect a bit of a difference
From what the box says ?
Rimfire ammo is very inconsistent IMO.I used RWS subs once the blue Win subs stopped being made.
Ran then over the chrono this year, all over the place. The 38gr Eley(white box) had less spread but still not great.

Here's the string.

I’ve rang valley arms and they have a chrono so I’ll go in Friday and check.

So I’ll get the blazer and the Norma’s speed checked then I’ll write that down then when I swap the ammo I can just re enter the ballistics data in for each type of ammo then probably stick to them to use

Just to mention I’ll stick the rifle in the club clamp and get it zero’d as perfect as I can and then with the correct ballistics fingers crossed I can get this dialled in

Get whatever shoots best through it and buy your limit all at once. Zero at 50, check velocity, enter it in along with a rough BC and then shoot it at 100-150. Measure the difference and adjust BC to suit if its a little out. I've read about adjusting scope height if its a long ways out but as usual, bad data in, bad data out

Yeah sorry I’m using cz457 lr with mod on bipods
And using Norma sub sonics

Sorry in advance for the long winded advice.
I didnt know a shorter way to explain the process.

I found Norma one of the worst for consistant speed and accuracy in both my LRs.
I chronoed them at 890fps to 940fps speed all over the place, very quiet, shockingly bad accuracy. Awful ammunition in my guns.

I managed to find some old stock winchester
Made in Australia. Brilliant ammo if you can find it.

I have a Hik Alpex LRF.
If you do not have access to a chrono, if you follow the process below you will get it sorted.
FWIW. I would zero at 50m, using whatever equipment you would ususlly use, and in your usual shooting position.
Once Zeroed, shoot a target at 100m or further without using the lrf or any holdover
Take 5 shots, measure the average drop, at 100m it will be in the region of 30cm at 150m it will.be nearer 90cm.

Now using your lrf range the Target and check if it matches your actual measured drop.
If it is out ie telling you a higher or lower drop, adjust the speed in your balistic calculator up or down as required, then range again, continue to do this until the ranged drop/holdover matches your measured drop.
Now use the lrf and shoot targets at different ranges.
If it is still not quite right, only now adjust the bc to correct the poi.
BC changes with speed.

Good luck.

I'm a little confused by all this:

The ability of a rifle to produce measurable grouping with specific ammunition is determined by the barrel and not the scope, be it of analogue or digital construction? Surely?

Just thinking out loud but can having the scope too close to the barrel affect accuracy ?

If you think it is a scope issue and not an ammunition- this is the response form Hik I had this week- to diagnose issues-

Response below-

With so many variants that can affect a scope not being able to zero properly, we need to fully verify the operation and installation of the unit before looking at a repair under the warranty.
With the record function running on the unit, can I ask that you complete the following steps.
General Zero Test:
· Zero the unit like you normally would on the base magnification.
· Fire at least 5 consecutive shots on your target so we can observe the consistency of the shots and set up of the unit.
· Take a photo of the target using a smartphone to clearly show where the shots are landing.
Once completed, please send over the video recording and picture of the target to service@eliteoptical.co.uk and we will inspect it and get back to you with the next steps.
If the general zero test accuracy and consistency is okay, but your issue regarding zeroing happens later down the line, please follow the below steps while the record function is running.
Secondary Zero Test:
· Zero the unit like you normally would, but on high magnification.
· Fire at least 2 consecutive shots on the zeroed magnification, then change to a different magnification and take 2 further shots - repeat this at least 3 times, all on different magnifications.
· Take a photo of the target using a smartphone to clearly show where the shots are landing.
Once completed, please send over the video recording and picture of the target to service@eliteoptical.co.uk and we will inspect it and get back to you with the next steps.

I'm not sure if I'm reading your posts correctly but I think you've only zeroed at 25yds and are then using the ballistic programme.

If that's the case, as others have said, you really need to check real-world as well as the theoretical ballistics. You'll only get that by shooting some paper targets at different ranges - you can't just rely on the ballistic app, even if you have input everything very accurately.

I perhaps may need to help from someone who’s not too far away
Your welcome to come to me mate and we can set some targets up in one of my fields at various ranges and see how we get on. However I cant promise to be clever enough to fully help but sure we can have a good go at figuring it out. If this is of interest PM me unless someone closer can help? 👍 Much easier with a big old CF rifle and hold over...for thickos like me :)

That sound a better idea

I’m from north wales so if anyone from this area has a hikmirco alpex 4k lrf and is zero’d in and wouldn’t mind helping me out that would be great
did you get this sorted? I live in north wales and have my Alpex 4k lrf on my .223 and on my .17hmr. If you a hand or want to trouble shoot after spending hours pi**ing around with the dam thing, im happy to help if i can?
