French disaster

Our return from Basel airport yesterday was very well managed by the Border forces personnel, & many troops in clear view, but no real impediment to travel.

Piers Morgan: "They're just gangsters who've hijacked Islam to suit their nefarious aims, cloaking their hatred and violence under the faux umbrella of religion."...... Sound familiar?

Sympathies for all involved. Just wonder how many of terrorists came across under the guise of being asylum seekers. We all need to stop giving out aid to these countries and spend the money on locking up our boarders tightly.
Yep, as I thought. It's been confirmed that 2 of the murderers sneaked into Europe from Syria as fake refugees. And they want us to take them voluntarily. No thanks, we're full!

We knew that will happen, the governments knew it will happen. The big question is why they allow it. Obviously it will not directly affect the ones making the decisions, so are they just reaping any benefits regardless of the well being of a country's inhabitants?

Refugees have been pouring into Sweden And last week the goverment started getting twitchy because it was pointed out to them that thay had no idea who they were letting in the country. 80% of the refugees are young young men. Skäggbarn (bearded children) many claiming to be under 18. Recond to be 40% of those well over 18. One was found dead from natural causes and thought to be 15 turned out to be 25. 40% just dissapear after arrival.
Many of these of these new arrivals dislike us and our way of life. When they get a Swedish passport they will be free to roam anywhere in Europe. As i said before this is going to end very baddly indeed.

you can do all the checks you like on the people fleeing syria etc and you will still not get all the 'bad' people. Just look at Edward Snowden, Kim Philby etc etc etc. They all had the highest security clearance a government could give but still went on to do what they did. Checks only work up to a point and I suppose in a free society we have to accept that the process is not infallable so that we continue to live how we live in a relatively free society. regards sbm

Even now the British mosques refuse to condemn Isis and as with Tunisia refuse to condemn this atrocity..

There lies the problem. At what point do you continue to allow preachers of hate to spew their filth?

If anybody has a link to any British mosque condemning Isis and Friday nights attack please post a reply..

Snowden, Kim Philby, and others like them are more akin to the misguided liberals who make excuses and hope that humanitarian welfare programs will turn everyone in to docile and peaceful denizens of Utopia. They are all what Lenin called, "Useful idiots."

The hard core Soviet spies in the USA were just like these Muslim terrorists today: slipped in as refugees, hid out for years, got jobs, stole secrets, recruited a few Useful Idiots to help them.

Just go read the KGB archives as gathered by the British MI and academics when the Iron Curtain fell - showing the depth of penetration into all levels of governments around the world.

Hi Southern
My point was that the process used by any government to check or vet people for whatever purpose is not fool proof, be they immigration checks, security vetting what ever and are no guarantee that whomever the checks are supposed to highlight will be exposed. Snowden is a current example of someone who got through the most stringent and highest security vetting, yet was still able to carry out damaging actions and then abscond.

This does not mean that government does not carry out checks or vetting just that if someone is determined to get through and carry out damaging actions they will, and I think that unfortunately we have to accept that as part of living in a free society.

I am not sure what measures could be put in place by any government to make their citizens totally safe in the sort of situation we witnessed in Paris on Friday night. Governments have to be lucky 100% of the time, bad people only have to be lucky once. Regards sbm

Politicians who call themselves "The Government" would like to have us believe they can protect us 100% from everything, until something happens and they throw up their hands or blame someone else. Are the highways 100% safe? Do no ships sink or planes crash? Has all crime been stopped?

It is not about 100% safe... but you still lock your doors and windows, to keep the easy burglars and trespassers out. It takes a lot more to stop the hard core criminal. But if lots of hard core criminals are around, you put bars on your window, get a dog, and know where your guns are. Same for your country.

It will be repeated here, do we have the manpower to quell such an attack? The French seem to have dedicated teams but by the time our forces react more horrors will have taken place.

Religion - The cancer of humanity...

Indeed. Think of the carnage we caused in the east at the time of the crusades - retaking the Holy land in the name of Christ. Slaughtering all the non- Christians we could lay our hands on. Standing up for what we believed in, making heroes of ourselves. (Sound familiar?) Ok, so it was many hundreds of years ago, but that doesn't make it right.

Now we are the victims, facing a new kind of crusader. The principle's the same, but the tools available have changed.

Religion has a lot to answer for, one way and another.

I think we are and have been reacting for some time...

First time I've heard all day shooting on the Marine Camp range for as long as i can remember on a Sunday...

We do, but I bet they never feel at liberty to make quick decisions. Quick decisions HAVE to be made, and sometimes, retrospectively, they will be poor decisions.
