Just so sad for all those who lost loved ones on what should have been a fun Friday night out. Don't know what I'd do if I got the phone call to say some of my kids had been slaughtered at a packed gig. You'd have to do something but - realistically - what?

These attacks were obviously co-ordinated, and for that reason alone - and the fact that they came as a complete surprise - it's obvious that the French security services have not been doing their jobs well enough.

Every politician wants to leave a legacy - our children will inherit the Bush & Blair harvest which was sown back in the 90's.

Taking out political dictators to further our interests has inadvertently let the Genie out of the Bottle - the Genie is running wild and will not lie down quietly.

We do not understand our enemy, which is ironic as we sat with them long enough to plot others downfall - it would seem they out-manoeuvred us all as theirs is a longer game of which we were facilitator and now are victim. You will not defeat your enemy if you do not understand them - you will not defeat your enemy if you are not prepared to go further than them.

We are not prepared to do the above because we are 'civilised' - choosing to kill from above to avoid public disdain.

Please don't take it out on your Muslim community though - or on anyone who even remotely looks like they're just off the boat - doing that will only serve to further the terrorists ends beyond terror and into full humanitarian division, which is what they seemingly want.

My heart breaks again for the victims of last night as I wake this morning to the feeling of there but for the grace of God go the rest of us - civilians on beaches and in cafes are now on the front line whilst politicians are surrounded by their own human bodyguard shields - that's not right is it? No wonder lots of us lost the faith....

Don't buy into the left-wing apologist excuses that this is a retaliation for anything. Radical Islam is mostly all of Islam, which is committed to extermination of other cultures. It is not just a religion; it is a racial and ethnic war.

The USA had its citizens and sailors kidnapped by Muslims in Libya during the first year of our second president. We had no bases there. We had done nothing to provoke them. President Jefferson had to send the Marines into Tripoli and wipe the pirates and their wealthy, perverted "religious" leaders out.

And it goes back further: Islamic armies invaded Europe, exterminating civilians. The English, Spanish, French and Germans were the ones who had to retaliate.

It is not too late to close the borders, just not soon enough. Everyone must be positively identified and anyone who is not 100% buying into the historic national culture of the soil on which they stand, is not a real citizen, and it is foolish to allow them to remain, more foolish to allow unvetted young men from a war zone to come in.

Agreed - I am equally terrified of the fundamentalist Christian Bush administration that kicked this off (aided by Blair et al) and which still exists - for those who don't know, these guys believe in the wacky fire and brimstone ending in the bible - quite unnerving.

We've seen big countries try to break greater willed people before - America already had a go in IndoChina and that didn't go well - Russia tried in Afghanistan so we should have seen that one coming....

The last immense action was the dropping of the atomic bomb on Nagasaki and Hiroshima - some say Japan would have not surrendered otherwise as theirs was a culture of defiance and die rather than give in - I'm not sure about that though.

None in the west have the stomach for such unequivocal action that would be needed to end this situation and of that I'm glad.

Sooner or later, someone is going to have to sit down at the table to discuss some sort of common ground and cease fire - it may be that we have to choose some unfavourable bed fellows, it may be that we have to upset our current middle eastern friends (of which we seem to be beholden to for oil etc). Forget hipocrisy though - we are way past that now as we in the west have awkward truths which underpin these current events and actions.

I wonder how many that are posting know any Muslims personally,I do and the average Muslim is not an extremist
he wants the same for his family as you do, of course he tries to promote the Muslim faith as he believes that is the way to salvation, just as many Christians believe Christianity is the way to salvation.

Muslims believe Islam is the true faith and that those of other faiths are lost and it's their duty to try and bring them back into the true faith that is why they speak of someone reverting to Islam not converting as they believe we were all of that faith originally.

I have no time for extremists of any religion nor will I condemn a man because of his religion there are many decent Muslims.
