Are you at all surprised? its in Turkey, they are Muslims, muslims regard dogs as unclean animals, you only need to look at the massive rise in dog fighting here in the UK, carried out by guess who, oh yes i remember now Asian muslims

TonyR - Aside from doing it to 'prove their manliness' , it is done by dog fighting crews so that when the dog is in a fight, the other dog has less to get hold of - which is one of the reasons why breeds such as Staffys were bred to only have small ears.
