5.6x57RWS reload data

A word of warning / advice

I've only had a quick look through the above posts but....
I built a 5.6x57 from a .243 Steyr 72. I ordered a chamber reamer from Pacific tool, when it arrived I thought I'd check it against a case just visually.
The two were visibly different ! I then checked against case dimensions and that confirmed it as wrong, the neck was too small.
I contacted Pacific and they confirmed it was the correct reamer for 5.6x57 and I must be doing something wrong. I knew I was right so asked for their reamer drawing, which they wouldn't send, so I sent them a C.I.P drawing.
After many emails and phone conversations, it appears when they're asked for 5.6x57 in the States they produce a reamer with a smaller neck as everyone necks down from other cartridges because they can't get/ don't use genuine 5.6x57 cases, so it's kind of a wildcat 5.6x57 and not to C.I.P spec. They eventually ground me a reamer to my C.I.P drawing, but weren't happy about it and said it was at my risk as it's not what they normally do !
I use RWS brass in my 5.6 and it's lovely stuff. I'm still working up a load, N140 powder pushing 55grn Blitz Kings are being spat at 3600fps with the case just about starting to seal. I think if I got the case blowing out and sealing properly it'd be up around 4000fps which is not where I want to be. I'll either try a faster powder to get pressure quicker or go up on bullet weight.
My recommendation would be to get some RWS brass, it should last a good while so will be cost effective.
Good luck with your Krico, always great rifles.

I have received some proper RWS brass with the thick neck. I haven't had time to look for some bullets yet. All my other .224 guns shoot only light bullets 35-40gr.
Hoping to get some loaded soon. Spring is coming.

Well..... ?
That was a week ago, you must have loaded and fired some by now! Show us some stats. How are you getting on with it?
I've only tried Vihtavuori powder, what are you using?

Waiting.......

Have not found any bullets yet for reloading. Got brass, reloading data and gun is back together after a cleanup and refinish of stock.
For some reason the .224 bullet selection is poor in the stores. Gun show next weekend, should find some bullets then.
