GPS Trackers?

Because of "Health Issues" it has got to the point where I could do with something to help put my wife's mind at rest if I go out shooting or walking. Whenever I go out I tend to phone her regularly to let her know that I am fine but if I forget then she starts to get concerned. Just in case things did go "belly up" for me at any time I am thinking about one of the (Cheap) mobile GPS trackers that are for sale on the Internet auction sites and wondered is any of you use something like these and if so do you think they are worth buying please?

Edit: Just an afterthought. I use a Blackberry Curve mobile phone and carry it with me wherever I go so does anyone know if there is any app that would work on it as a GPS "Tracker/Locator" that I could be used to "located" the owner through?

I have done this using a blackberry but used blackberry protect which is supported by blackberry themselves

You log into http://protect.blackberry.com/ and you can show the location of the phone on an on screen map.

For this to work, it pre supposes that you have a working data connection.

I often go out with an older friend who has some mobility difficulties, and I have my own health issues too; so I have just invested in an E-Pirb. This works on our most frequently visited ground where there is no phone signal. It will bring rescue services wherever you are and gives 'the wife' peace of mind. Worth checking out on-line!
