Hi all
can you advise me on what's the value
of this S&B 3-12x50 made in west Germany
paint is scratched quite badly and wear to paint on turret caps
glass is in very good condition and all works as it should
I want to sell this at some point to buy a target turret scope
here's a few links to picks
thanks

Somethings value is what someone is willing to pay for it. Personally, if it is mechanically and optically sound, I'd happily pay £400+.

As an aside, I bought a S&B scope today. £800 for a 4-16x50 precision hunter. It was not cosmetically perfect but I am assured by the shop it is mechanically and optically sound. Slightly different scope but not by much. I was happy to pay this over a brand new 4.5-18x44 Bushnell LRHS for £850.

Thanks both of you
I am tempted to keep it as the glass is
great and put it on my RF
but sadly I want a dialable scope with higher mag for more longer distances
something like an old bushnell elite tactical 4.5-30x50

I think it's worth a fair chunk more than £3-400 a decent newish one is going to be about £800 I can't see your pictures well as I'm on the phone but surely it must be £600. Even with all the new coatings I doubt very much if you would see and real difference between this and a brand new schmidt

As the others 2 posters - £300 - £400 maximum.

Just looked at the pics and it’s an old one too with the old fashioned shiny coating. I’d say £300 maximum.

I wish you good luck with the sale but I only got £300 when I sold my identical and immaculate scope (admittedly to a dealer) about 10 years ago (but then I only paid £325 for it when I purchased it new from Litts of Newport back in the nineteen seventies/eighties). I only wish I had been aware of Stalking Directory at the time.

As an aside, I'm curious about the rifle this scope is mounted on, and more particularly the triggers.

The front trigger seems to be facing backwards: looks like it would be difficult to even get your finger around.

What's there story there?

fixed s and bs tend to go for around the £300 mark so a variable will be worth more on the basis that when a discussion on here comes up regarding fixed or variable mag scopes the variable lot are always noisier. So I would defo start at £400 and see if you get any takers as it is a good scope for anyone that wants it for stalking. Second hand on a relatively new optic may well be worth 75% of current purchase price but once you get into the realms of older models achieving 50% is good imo.

hi it's a bsa cf2 in 7x57 with a set trigger (push front trigger forwards makes the real trigger pull very light)
instead of the Normal 3lb pull
