Bosch drill battery replacement

I have a fairly old heavy duty Bosch 14,4-2 cordless drill/driver which uses 14.4V 1.5Ah batteries part no. 2 607 335 711 Both the original batteries have now packed up and won't hold a charge.

I have 14.4V 1.2Ah Bosch batteries part no 2 607 335 275 from a lighter drill/driver which are compatible but don't last long in use.

There are loads of non-Bosch batteries on Google which are allegedly compatible but I am a bit wary of getting some dodgy piece of fake junk that is utterly useless if not actually dangerous.

Does anyone have any experience of third party batteries that are OK, or alternatively know of a supplier of genuine Bosch batteries at a sensible price?

+1 Wapinschaw, I tried to order a couple replacement batteries online, went all through the process, only after the company website had taken the order, they mailed me to inform me they did not deliver to Aberdeenshire!

A complete waste of time, and I did write to let them know, but like yourself, still stuck with a decent drill with dying batteries!
It's blue!

Been a few years since I ordered some, but the ones I got did the job. Buying Bosch replacement batteries was not economically viable.

Try Lawson HIS in Southampton.
Is it the unit green or blue ?

The older heavy duty unit is blue, the new, lighter one is green, consistent with the Bosch colour schemes for trade/hobby use. There is a date of manufacture indicator on the blue unit case showing December 2006, also shows 2006 on the unit data plate so I have had at least 10 years regular use out of it. As pointed out by the singing stalker it's probably time for a replacement, Lawson in Southampton are looking good. Thanks for the advice guys.

Have had no problems with the 'compatible' batteries off evil bay, got three for the replacement price of Bosch one. There are people that can rebuild your original ones if you search online.

I had a couple of Makita batteries repaired, one just replacing a duff cell and the other replacing all the cells by a very helpful chap at batteryfix.co.uk he can do NiCad and Ni-MH ones.

While waiting for those to come back from him I bought a Chinese red Floureon 18v 3.0 Ah Ni-MH one from Amazon and it has been fine so far...all of them still working fine since October 2016.
