What’s the best cheese on a venison burger?

Since we’re back into BBQ season .....does anyone have a favourite cheese to go on a venison burger? I like blue cheese and bacon with beef burgers, but never tried cheese on venison burgers yet....

If I have blue cheese with beef burger it’s usually either Gorgonzola Piccante or Bleu d’Auvergne, but a Stilton works well too!

This is shaping up to be my favourite thread on here as I love cheese but never really know what would work with venison. Now I have a few to try!

A really ripe brie or camembert. Or, as others have said, stilton. Has to be a good stilton though.
Where do you Stiltonians shop for your cheese? I have found that my local Tesco superstore has a reasonable selection.
It seems that one can purchase cheese online and get it delivered to your door these days!

Venison burger cheese? Well the ultimate has to be Veni Cheese!

Moose Cheese – Over 500/kg; US $300/pound
Produced in Sweden by the Moose House, this cheese is made only from the milk of Gullan, Haelga, and Juno. These three cows were abandoned by their mother and adopted by the Johannson family. Moose only lactate from May to September and require the most tender of handling during milking since disturbances can cause the animals to get flustered and dry-up. Each animal produces about 5 liters (1.3 gallons) of milk per day, so each year the farm can only offer 300 kg (660 pounds) of cheese. The cheese contains 12 percent fat and 12 percent protein.

Neals Yard dairy. The best source of quality cheeses in the UK. All made by small-scale artisan producers using traditional methods.

Holy moly, that’s $300 x 660lb = $198,000/pa off three moose!!
That’s some serious moolah

Stilton or other blue cheese is amazing and a firm favourite.

Otherwise a really strong crackly mature cheddar - Classic, simple and tasty!

Or if you dont want a mega strong taste Emmental or Gruyere.

St Agur gets my vote. The perfect blue cheese in my view. Mild and creamy, but with a very mellow bite to it. Makes a superb blue cheese dip for smoked chicken wings, too
