DPT mods.

What was the weight difference? Probably no more than a gram? I doubt it will have shifted much if at all. The not knowing might not be nice though.

I’m so lucky here, I have a target set up in a field next to my house. I can do my loading and then walk out onto the patio and shoot from there. It’s all very civilised. I don’t have all the different species to hunt as some do though so I guess the grass is always greener.

Don't know - haven't bought it yet.

ps -Your a lucky boy having that on your doorstep.

Why go stainless? I thought about it, then saw how heavy the stainless baffle was (twice the weight and twice the price) and decided just to buy an additional alloy baffle. If I get erosion/gas cutting on the first baffle I can change it for the new one. I’ve also got the option of using an extra baffle if I want/need it.

Truth is that my 30.06 barks far more than any 308 or 303 I have ever shot. I was going to swap a standard baffle for the blast steel baffle to see if it made any difference with a tad more weight up front, but now I just may add it to the mod to try to tame it further.

Has absolutely nothing to do with looks as it will be covered by a neoprene cover.

I'd just buy an extra standard one, if you need extra and if you're not going plinking with it. They're a pretty good mod, in my opinion, any hoo.

Extra baffles will reduce the noise and 'should' not alter the POI, the key with DPT is to identify the smallest bore which your bullet will pass through. For example a .30-06 has a 7.8mm bullet and the mod will sport a 9mm bore, thier .270 Mod has an 8.2mm bore (ask someone to measure the exit hole) which would be suitable for your rifle 'as long as the bore is aligned with the thread' and will dramatically reduce the noise made by the expanding gasses.
I presume you have a reflex (over barrel) mod - so get a .270 cal stainless baffle and add as many additional alloy baffles as you feel you can afford (both in cost and additional length).
