Wanted: Driven Boar Agents in Germany

Can anybody help me with details of any Agents in Germany that arrange driven boar hunts in Germany ?
I have contacted one agent in Germany but he only arranges hunting in Poland.
I am now so fed up with the hassle at airports with firearms that I would like to drive to any hunting trips I undertake in the future.
I did drive to Croatia once but on my own it was a long haul, probably would have been better to have made a two day of it stopping half way but then it makes a three day hunting trip rather longer than I would like to be away from my wife for health reasons.
I was promised an invite to Germany by a member of this site many moons ago but I think he must have forgotten me as nothing came of it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Ze Germans would rather keep it for themselves I think Eddy! We go for black roe each year (4000£) and they show no kindness to us Brits. Case of shut up and put up.

K&K premium Jagd could be worth asking

Or have you considered driven muntjac instead? I hear it's very popular these days...

It's not just the quarry I seek, it's the whole hunting atmosphere, the terrain, scenery and of course the other wildlife that moves through the line as well.

Sorry. I was teasing. Guess you didn't see the bunfight on the other thread. :D

Good luck!

Kind regards,

Carl

No need to be sorry Carl, I just thought you were pointing me in another direction for Driven hunting ;-)
It's like when I go on a driven hunt abroad I never shoot anything other than pigs or a fox at the end of the drive or if nothing else is moving.
I can't see any point in going all that way with the relevant hassle at the airport with firearms etc to shoot Deer, apart from some of my Irish friends who take advantage of Roe when they get the opportunity as there aren't any of them over there.

I have just come back from Germany, it was hassle free with the Border Force for both my firearms and the dog.

The only problem is now, is what will happen after brexit, I already have invites for next year, but I don’t know how easy traveling with a firearm after March will be.

Travelling with the dog for next year I will have to start thinking 4 months in advance to get the relevant paperwork.

Don’t know where you go but have been invited a few times on driven hunts and have been welcomed very warmly indeed.
Everyone I met was open and talked in English to me about their hunting etc..

So I think that is a very large sweeping statement to make!!!!

Maybe so! But I speak as I find

I took a K&K premium Jagd on at the Hohenfels US training area in Bavaria as it was only 15kms from my home but the result was a joke, over 70 shooters per day and they shot only 28 beasts per day, I saw nothing. Then I was informed by letter from K&K premium Jagd themselves that they had had a very bad year the year before and now as it was as bad again they would not be offering Hoenfels anymore the reason was, according to K&K due to the foresters wolf management plan taking precedence over everything else. OK but if I had been informed in advance I would not have wasted 800 Euros on it. Take your choice.

I have pictures of Wolf damage on my What's app but don't know how to transfer them, if I could I am sure nobody would want wolves re-introduced.
I think if you speak the language, or even try to, it makes a big difference to the way you are treated.

my last time i was in East Germany tracking a wounded wild boar, i had a young male wolf follow me he came to within ten meters circled round me and then disappeared back into the bracken, I have the footage on my camera i need to download it.

It’s not difficult to get on a forestry organised driven hunt in Germany, and not particularly expensive as long as you’ve got your Tagjagdschein (possibly spelt wrong) which is really an admin exercise to obtain; presenting your cert/insurance/other relevant paperwork and the fee which varies from area to area.

You then register for a space, pay the relevant day fee and turn up at which time the registration point allocates you the group and sometimes peg number (often the leader of the group will just stop the cart or whatever and someone steps forward for that position).

If I was you I’d decide on the area you wish to go and google the telephone number for the municipal office and enquire from there.

It’s obviously easier if you have someone the other end that can sort out the admin for you but don’t think it would be impossible to do yourself.

My friend usually just sorts this out for me and I give him the Euro’s to cover the cost.

The big forestry hunts can be a bit hit and miss numbers wise for boar. Usually plenty of deer but like yourself I tend to leave them as can shoot plenty here and don’t really relish the thought of shooting a young stag and paying through the nose for it (even wee six pointers are pricey), some hunters do as they don’t normally have the opportunity to which is fair enough (there’s no charge for females and plenty trouble if the stag shot is the wrong class - not always easy to tell running through forestry).

I was told that the wolf numbers in Germany have exploded and far exceed the number that the people introducing them claim and are causing serious problems.

My friend wasn’t holding back when he was telling me what was happening and there would be plenty hunters happy enough to deal with it.

It’s no doubt a matter of time before a horror story unfolds and they need to be controlled.

And to think there are people who think it would be great reintroducing apex predators like this over here....... I just shake my head in disbelief.
