I just saw the thread relived on the whats new.
I was with Rene Wiese often on his SfA stand at the various hunting shows in germany, basically helping him out as a payback to him for having helped me out on my Jagdscheine course in 1998 we have became good friends too.
His best tip to me was to always have some white paper hankies with you so that if beast runs off after the shot you can mark the shot site by sticking one of the hankies onto a stick then push said stick into the into the ground, simple but effective. Do not trample up the site too much as it confuses the hound.

This is good advice, this is why we came up with what we call a track pack, we hand these free of charge to hunters / stalkers that visit our stands and seminars, to aid both themselves and to give the tracker if required a poke in the right direction!

There are now over 150 of these packs in circulation with and more will be handed out throughout the year at game fairs and UKSHA seminars.

Yup I have learnt all the theory but the missus will not have a dog in the house as we travel abroad too often. Shame but that"s life. Rene of SfA is looking to sell the business so if there are any takers!!!

Here’s my new pup just starting out with training, amber is 5 months old and is at the stage of a 6 hour old track no blood, her instinct to chase is very good and she likes to give voice over the next few months I will start to show her on track, regards Wayne
