Has Boris shot himself in the foot.

i reckon the next few days is going to be very interesting, boris might just pull this off with a bit of help from the lords

I dont know about Boris's future but he has my backing on this single issue now, afterwards, who knows.

I do know that my politician who I voted for shares my views on most things and supports Boris's stance on the EU - he'll do for me. If he had been a remainer, I would have strongly campaigned for his de-selection.

I'm sorry to say this but I hope all those who voted against, die an unpleasant and terminal political death and their benefits from a grateful country add up to - nothing and furthermore they benefit from terminal obscurity, living in a garret with no running water and the pox.

Well on the bright side, if brexit is delayed AGAIN that means hassle free travel to the continent with firearms for those of us who enjoy the hunting culture on the other side of the channel.

Finger crossed

I like you lot, mostly, but my opinions are entirely my own. I am trying hard to make myself more humorous - note to self - try harder.
As my younger daughter had written on a crayon drawing when she was about 4 - “ I love you mum” and then added in a different colour “sometimes” absolutely brilliant.

Whats the point they wont bother to read it. If they do they will say its project fear and more Chasey bulls#it

Their vision of the world shouldent be inturupted with hard facts like this

I think they have read it,,, have you?
It really doesn't show your beloved eu in a good light,, bent and falsifying log books, illegal fishing, half a million quids worth of illegally caught fish,
Quote; In March 2015 further news emerged of illegal fishing in British waters. The Frank Bonefaas – a 120m super-trawler which is owned by the Cornelis Vrolijk companywas caught by HMS Severn with an astonishing 632,000kg (1,400,000lbs) of mackerel on board – all of which had been caught in a protected area off the Cornish coast quote.

however its good you accept it as "Hard facts"

another interesting read,, https://www.seafish.org/media/742176/seafishguidetoiuu_201211.pdf

this bit is especially interesting,,
Quote; ‘Trans-shipment’ at sea IUU fishing can also remain undetected because vessels ‘trans-ship’ their catches at sea. Some large vessels can remain at sea for months, remotely refuelling, re-supplying and rotating their crews. By also transferring catches to transport ships (reefers), they can avoid entering port with illegally caught fish. Often IUU fish is ‘laundered’ by mixing it with legally caught fish onboard transport vessels. quote.

On the plus side, we shall shortly have the pleasure of listening to the maiden speech in the House of Commons of one newly elected Nigel Farage MP, followed by addresses from forty or fifty of his colleagues. I am greatly looking forward to that.

We will have remainers to thank for this vast improvement to the quality and interest of Prime Ministers Questions and for ensuring that as a consequence Brexit will never be "put to bed" and finished with but will dominate Parliamentary time for the foreseeable future in a way that Scottish separatists can only dream of.
You think you've killed it off. In fact you've made Brexit the casus belli of UK politics for years to come.

I do accept it as the hard fact that the UK government is doing / has done very little to support our fishermen within the rules laid down by the EU in the last decade +

4%?? did you read that. Only 4% of the UK fishing quota is being fished by our small UK fleet

Why is that being allowed by our government?

Rstrict the UK fishing quota to UK boats from UK ports using UK processing plants all well within EU rules and they could have made our fleet very happy indeed.

Nahhhhh just blame it all on the nasty EU instead its cheaper and easier

I think the Farage MP thing would be interesting and whilst i find his ideals abhorrent i do respect his tenacity. Hes brought the EU parliament to task several times, so id hope he did the same to the UK one

casus belli :D love it and spot on. I am only 55 so i doubt ill live long enough to witness the end of Brexit as an issue.

We hafe about 6-7 years to finalise the deal minimum probably a decade to figure out it was a disaster then another 5 -7 years to get back in the EU and try and fix it :D

Hassle free travel has got to trump the the good of the whole UK! ;)
Ken.

May as well make the best of the situation!

The only good thing about this brexit uncertainty is that wheat prices are low which is making the chicken feed my boss buys about £30/T cheaper therefore the company makes a few quid happy days.

Not good for arable farmers though, but great for the independent poultry producers!

WTF is going to happen with our government now, picture these scenarios,

1. An extension of time is given from the EU, then a general election in the next few months. Result a hung parliament (almost certain). The Brexit party who will undoubtedly gain quite a few seats from labour and Bojo after he replaces his expelled wets with Brexiteers will be able to form a coalition government BUT only on the condition laid down by Farage that there is NO negotiation, they together are able to reverse any law made about leaving with no deal and we soon after leave without a deal. Would Bojo go with that, quite likely.

2. Labour, greens and Lib Dems (if any one could stomach Corbyn and co) form a coalition government and prevent us leaving the EU, so we are back in and that includes our MEPs, Farage and co (the largest single party within the EU) will form coalitions with other Eurosceptic parties within and wreak havoc at every opportunity giving the EU a nightmare scenario for their project going forward.
Think on this, does the EU really want the UK as a member any more given the popularity of the Brexit party which will undoubtedly increase if we are forced back in, NO they do not want us because it is against their interests.

3. The same coalition as 2. but they try to get a deal (on EU terms of course) which will never get through Parliament as the Tories and Brexit party would never vote for it, so we are stuck in limbo for decades.

When Bojo has proposed a GE he will have considered all the scenarios, I think he is banking on scenario 1, I hope he pulls it off.

Any other scenarios out there? and please no second referendum at least not until the outcome of the first is honoured.
