All entirely personal choices of course but my battery as follows
dont do any target shooting so all are mid weight barrel profiles and lengths bar the 22-250 browning which is a heavy barrel as its used from the truck top, pretty worn out so its getting replaced soon

22lr Ruger m77 laminate stock
22-250 brownning a bolt - nv set up
243 tikka 595 laminate stock - foxing/deer
6.5x55 Sauer 101xta synthetic adjustable stock - deer
30-06 Schultz & Larsen Victory - grade 2 stock - deer/boar
338-06 barrel for above on order - deer/big stuff

Thanks for this great bit of advice. I would swap out my 243 for a 6.5 (beanfield/range/hunter) if I could only find a quality left hand rifle, preferably CRF (in keeping with all my others). The only option currently available in the UK is the Ruger M77 Hunter in 6.5 CM. I’m just not wild about the Tikka’s and Remingtons etc. Zastava could potentially be bought into the UK but I have heard they need loads of work. Otherwise I would rebarrel the no.1 to 6.5x57 and then my lineup would be:
22lr
6.5x57
30-06
375

The hunt would then be on for a 22 hornet.

Get one built from Kesslerin on a leftie small ring Mauser 98, or I think Mayfair even do a crackhander m98 now..

Just sell all your other guns to finance the action acquisition

I guess its the old what you need vs the what you'd like again?

For me I'd be more than happy with (pretty much the same an most):

22lr - bunnies/squirrels
.223 fast twist - fox, Munties and cheap CF target
6.5 Creed or Swede - allround deer
.308 - woodland stalk/boar

Now if I retired and won the lottery, then I might well add quite a few inbetweeners!

Or, truly, a quality 22LR, 30-06, and a 12 gauge. That will do it all.

Hard to argue against a .22LR / .223 / .308 / .375 / 12-bore battery for the planet.

But, a .22LR and a 6.5mm and a shotgun would cover the UK pretty well.

You could add a .20 or .22 for foxes, crows, etc.

a .30 for travelling (.308 / .30-06 / .300) or perhaps a fast 7mm

a .375 Weatherby or H&H if you feel the need for something bigger than a .30

.177 HMR - great but could be swapped for 204 as .223 has now been sold and 204 would just about fill the gap
6.5 x 55 swede - love it
9.3 x 62 covers bigger deer here and boar plus boar and plains game abroad
404 J - still in ''begging mode'' from the nice people at Devon and Cornwall for this caliber but it is a niche requirement for 'stopping a charge'.

I have a 204 for sale if you want one!!

I was hankering after another Husqvarna / Zoli / Gustav as I have seen a couple of nice examples for sale, but I thought 2 centerfires living with me down south and my 7mm RM (my mistress I keep in Scotland) was enough.

Have been thinking of swapping out my 243 for something else but as it was my first rifle and still very accurate I can’t contemplate getting rid.
