An "Rare" video about Brian Plummer.

I have just come across this rare video about and featuring Brian Plummer and have just finished watching it right the way through. Personally I found it very interesting as I met him and spent time chatting with him at Lambourn Lurcher Show. (I will add however that I don't think Brian Plummer had a patch on Jack Hargreaves) In this video he talks about and shows/demonstrates Terriers, Lurchers, Lamping, Coursing, Ferreting, Net Making and Foxing, etc. Some of you might think that watching this is 35 minutes of your life wasted but I thought it was worth watching.
I'll let you guys decide.

Plummer terrier. Had one years ago, cost me more in vets bills in the two years I had him than all the other dogs I’ve owned put together !!!!

I met Plummer twice once as a lad of about 13 and again a couple of years before he died, he was a complicated fellow for sure, but certainly was one of my heroes as a kid, I think a lot of dislike for him stemmed from the fact that he was an intellectual and certainly could come over as arrogant, however, I will always have a sneaking regard for him, he was without doubt, his own man, and lived life the way he chose.

People didn't like him because he was a compulsive liar. He wrote some good books though

It always strikes me as rather sad when people pour scorn on a successful person, yes he had his faults, but don't we all? To me proof positive, that they really don't like you when you have your own head, DB Plummer certainly had his own head.

Did you know him? I did he was a parasite of mine that took more effort to eradicate than Lymes disease.

Yes he did of the backs of others that did the deed..
Just typed up my knowledge of the guy and his terriers, then cancelled it, as I'm not one to speak I'll of the dead, let him rest in peace and if ya want a nice STORY book before bed read one of his books.

I would not say I knew him as such, I met him twice as I said, and spoke on the phone a time or two, but anyway the man is dead, so as said let him rest in peace I say.

If you were young and only had very little knowledge of ferrets, terriers or Lurchers then he was god,I also bought a few of his books but the older I got and met people who had been around him the more I realised it was just shite that poured out of his mouth,a lad I know was writing in the countryman’s weekly for him in the terrier section said to him I have no more to tell of my times while out working with terriers,Plummers answer was just lie make something up, the lad declined and quite rightly so,w

Well whatever your thoughts on Plummer, one fact remains, the time his Ferret bit Richard Whitely on live TV was bloody hilarious, and Plummers arrogant indifference to Whitely's plight, priceless.

Didn't know brian myself, but a friend of mine knew him quite well and also owned several dogs of his bloodline , one i remember very well was a dog who i believe was the son of vampire. All the dogs worked really well , be it ratting or going to hearth foxing.
Although he lived relatively close to me before he moved up to caithness, i never met him,
Ive heard loads of people say he was obnoxious and arrogant, but his terriers could sure do a days work.
