SERIOUSLY???

.
Ok, then I assume everyone can claim then.
Or, let me be devils advocate, is there some descrimination between let's say larger, which can be claimed; and may be prosecco, which can't be claimed because someone perceived as a girls drink.
M.
Claims shouldn't be related to the size of the drinker, that would be fattist, or smallist :-| Larger drinkers may drink more and maybe potentially greedier but imo should only be able to claim equal amounts to the smaller drinkers. Man this has got so confusing now. Don't even mention "shorts"

Ha, that reminds me of queuing for a courtesy meal in the catering marquee at an event where I'd been officiating. It seemed that the grub was being dished out in proportion to the cubic capacity of each person - fatter people got bigger dinners! It seemed most unjust to me, as surely they were least in need of it! As a fairly lean person, I went from there pretty hungry still.

they might be allowed,,, but are you able to claim for them
Nice one. That reminds me of a funny tale.
In the 90's I worked for a company where shirt and tie was the norm.
The management team thought it was progressive, ( it was the 90s), and they introduced "dress down Friday's".
A week later they published rules on what could been worn on Fridays.
Shorts, were not on the list...

Freedom, but only if it looks like our view of freedom..

I fell foul of that management bollocks once. They sent out a memo saying 'Dress for the role you want, not the one you have'.

I felt a right **** at the disciplinary meeting in my Batman outfit . . . :-|

If they supply or pay for the meals, doesn't that come under "payment in kind" and is therefore taxable?, if so why should you pay tax on something you have no control over.
Anyway i wont be taking my Igloo to them for refurbishment.

Me neither and most of their customers are likely to be Eskimos. Now where's my feckin harpoon gone?

I'm still laughing about the dick smoking, semen gargling, bubble blowing vegans and didn't realise things got very serious from page 3 onwards!
Nice one Riddick!

Should have taken me along Tim ,if dinner was done on belly size i wouldve got a large enough portion for both of us

Your reply above descrides discrimination perfectly. E.g If you follow the philosophical believe, you can claim the expense. If you don't you can't, and will therefor be financially worst off because you don't participate in our philosophical believe. That's descrimination based on a philosophical believe.

Try telling someone you can't claim a legitimate food expense when away on business, if it was Kosher, or Halal.
You'd be dragged into court in a flash, and rightly so.
This is no different.
M.
You are perfectly corect, ive just signed off our company documentation that has to be done annually and it contains statements that confirms we have anti discrimination policies in place that cover a whole range of things. Most of those policies companies are bound in law to have and adhere to. Discrimination is discrimination and is based on unfairly treating individuals or dissadvantaging them over and above other employees, how expenses are treated amongst employees would I'm sure fall into that scope as its a benefit being offered and should be open to all.

Now THAT is discrimination!

Since retiring early from my career I have a business running training courses, sometimes I call in an instructor to cover for me. So if I decided to allow them to claim lunch, but stipulated that there must be meat included in the meal, that would be ok would it..........Cos that sounds like discrimination to me.

All I will say is that I have positively discriminated against a couple of folk by pressing the ignore button as they do not seem to understand the concept of discrimination except in an Orwellian manner.

Bugger-all is going up me. You can knock that rumour on the head right now!:lol:

I've spoken to a whole bunch of people (in a non discriminatory way) and despite several saying "Ohh is it wheeley twoo" and some bursting into tears, I can now confirm that I have a Que of souls all willing to knock you on the head.
Some have indicated that 'right now' is difficult to manage so they were wondering if you could suggest a time and date ?

The group are open to the 'place' and some feel that 'on top of the Old man of Hoy' is a bit extreme (i'm one of those to be honest) others have suggested Niagara or Victoria Falls (but it was suggested that they are probably just angling for a holiday).
The bandstand in Reid Park is winning at the moment.
