What's your favourite beer when you have a "night in" in front of the telly?

Very much a lager man, so all your ales are of no interest. We have a local brewery that makes a proper German Helles that is my go to.

However, until recently we have had only a few ciders available here, but when I come over I’m amazed and delighted with all the options in the UK. I usually begin with a trip to whatever store and pick up 5 or 6 different ones.

Hepworth Brewery’s Goodwood Sussex Lager (one for those hot summer evenings that seem a distant memory at the moment...)

Long Man Brewery’s Sussex Best Bitter

West Berkshire Brewery’s Good Old Boy Best Bitter

Hi
Spent many an evening in the early 80s in the Packhorse Inn on the Moors above Hebden Bridge. Frenchie Boy will know the place. They served fantastic William Younger's Scotch Bitter. Not too strong, very smooth so a good session beer.

A good pint of Tetley's Bitter took some beating too. A lot was down to how well it was pulled. Old school way before hygiene rules was to pull about 3 pints to get 1. The rest went over the glass and back into the barrel.

I drink very little now so I can only reminisce.

Yes I know the place but have to admit that I have never been inside there for a drink, maybe I ought to!

Hi FB
Getting on 40 years since I used to go there so do so at your own risk :)

Where my Mrs works keeps some decent real ales I have been told.
