I shall now get just a little cross.
I am not, and was not, trying to get around anything. I have been reading for some days a number of contrary views on here about whether the Governament guidelines allow us to go stalking or not.
So I formally asked the question of the FEO.
Yesterday I was formally told, that the FEO had no guidance, so don't go. Fair enough, and I complied.
Today that guidance has been reversed, and rather than keep it to myself, I have shared it.
And I have done so under my own name. Not some pseudonym.
I also stated that if the guidance to me changed again, I would share that, and comply with it.
To get abuse off a Trade Member - who might, one assumes actually want to sell me something, is extraordinary.

I don't understand this fixation with what an FEO does or does not agree with. Is loss of one's FAC all that matters to some people? Is that the only thing that allows them to distinguish between right and wrong?

The government gave clear instructions to stay at home unless absolutely necessary. You contacted your FEO looking for a way round it.
Some trade members have nothing to sell, only their wish to advance available newbie training availability.
The situation in Scotland has been made clear NO ! unless you are the landowner or employed by the owner or occupier

I can just imagine some Cheshire holder asking the question, don’t think they make ear protection to cope with the reply!

Deer stalking aside, a lot of the trouble is that the governments instructions on who should and should not stay at home is not that clear. If you go to the current government website it states that unless you work for one of the businesses that has been specifically defined as having to close and if you are unable to undertake your work from home then you can still go to work but should use social distancing. That's why the construction industry and associated companies are all still working. It would be much easier if they just said everyone has to close.

If i go out to shoot a fox eating a lamb im a '****ing idiot' blahdy blah. **** em mate no time for them and anyone who comments saying this that or the other WILL be blocked because im getting tired of **** wits constantly. Great forum but some of its members are really letting it down. If its perfectly legal and fine to do and firearms/police don't have a problem then anyone who says otherwise can swivel. Bored of this **** now.
And yea before you start with the this is killing people your quite right it is, just like cancer, depression and everything else going on. Yes this is serious, if im asked to do something thats legal and MORALLY correct im going to crack on with no risk of infection to myself or anyone else. Why is everyone still on about this? We've been ASKED, NOT TOLD to stay in. Its bloody guidance and it says that on the gov website. People can still work and exercise outdoors but people on here are starting to take the **** with it now.
With respect to all the FEO's I've been served by in the last 40 years I've yet to encounter one who could improve on my take of land suitable to discharge a firearm over.
I've also had a so-called "open certificate" for as long and have always assumed with such trust comes a certain responsibility.
I will not be contacting any FEO to establish if the Government's imposed lock-down precludes me from carrying out my duties as a Wildlife & Conservation Officer.
