Gun/Rifle Vice - MTM or Tripton?

So I am going to be getting myself a new gun vice / maintenance station. What I would like out of it is the ability to mount scopes squarely and complete all maintenance needed.

It looks to me and after reading reviews that 'Tipton Best Gun Vice' is the one to go for....however the price is very hefty £150-£170 and I don't know if I can justify that.

That leaves the following 2 options Tipton standard vice or MTM gun cleaning vice both around the £60-£70 mark. The pictures on these don't fill me full of confidence on quality. I have read that the Tipton can push the butt of the rifle off square when clamped yet it seems to be better quality than the MTM. Are either of these 2 models ok for scope mounting?

I'd be keen to get opinions from those who own any of the 3 above items and also mainly what you don't like or could make it better, that will ultimately help me choose.

Thanks very much in advance.

I've had MTM products in the past and to be honest I found them way over priced for what they are, I expected better but to get injection moulded items that don't feel particularly robust (as much as IMP can be), vs. The cost of said item was a disappointment.

If I was to buy again, I would have opted for the Tipton.

Perhaps make your own - not a vice but it makes an adequate workstation

Haha very nice, yeah perfect little project for lockdown. For sure will make good maintenance stand, definitely want a vice function and ability to be able to mount scopes on the square.

Hi,I know is not what you asking for but take a look at Lyman. I am using one for few years now and very happy. And it's definitely not one of my hard to justify purchases. Regarding Tipton i had a chance to use their two top models and hands down they're the best i came across but same as you i can't justify the price for my needs
