Sako 75 and 85 rifles are obsolete, long live the S20

Sako say the new S20 kills deer deader than the 75 and 85 models. Owning one will make you into a much better stalker and for some even a deer manager. Its a well known fact that all deer evolve into a more super creature every 10 years so rifle and scope technology has to keep up. Don't forget chaps that without a Sako S20 you will never manage your deer cull. I can't wait till the Sako S30 hits the gun shops.

Both the 75 and 85 have rather poor recoil lug designs, however they usually shoot ok.

I can't help think that for there intended market the S20 needs interchangeable barrels.

Let's hope they keep the 85 in production, or even bring out an enhanced model for those who like a traditional rifle.

A quick edit to the original post, it seems that I cannot edit it now.

I stand corrected on the photo, the bolt next to the 85 is not a 75. The 75 however is a regular push feed with plunger ejector and three locking lugs.

2nd correction, the S20 mag is double stack singe/centre feed.
No it isn’t. I have a 75 and it does not have a plunger ejector.

That pile of inferior metal and plastic will never replace the 75 .it wont have the following either. The 85 isn't for me personally

I'm a 75 man through and through, and won't be changing either of mine. But I must admit now that the initial shock has passed, I've warmed to the look of the hunting version of the S20. Looks practical and very comfortable to use. Don't like the precision one at all though. Yuch.

It just doesn't have a look of strength or robustness too it.am I right in thinking the trigger guard is made of plastic.sako rifles shouldn't have that much plastic on them.not for that price.they are just falling intoo the same hole as the rest of the European makers.
