Hi there

purchased a pecar berlin 6x45 scope at the dingwall
auction mart about 6 months ago for £30, looks like a
good clean scope, glass is in perfect condition.
Have mounted it too my howa 1500 243,

is this scope good enough for a 243, ?

There is nothing wrong with Pecar scopes - Very solidly built with good glass, not as good as the best modern glass but much better than modern cheap stuff. I have a couple and they are fine on centrefire rifles - Very reliable. adjustments are firm and reliable. Zero stays where it's put. They don't crack up like cheap modern stuff. They also are one of very few scopes made to have the reticles changed easily.

You jammy git! :tiphat: Pecars were the choice to on onto the Enforcer counter sniper rifles. Just be aware some have 1" tubes and some 26mm tubes. Pecar also offered a variety of reticles. Very robust and excellent glass. Depending upon exact scope model and reticle it will be fine on what ever centre fire you wish to use it on.

If you decide to get a more modern scope you will make a handsome profit on your £30.

This is the marking for the image moving scopes:-

That's on the Champion model as shown. I thought I did well getting this one for £80 about 18 months ago.

You were robbed but I'll give you the £30 for it just because I am bloody generous bloke and I feel sorry for you. Please clean it and wrap it well when you post it to me. Thanks, JC

Cheers for the replys,

I have been told it is the post rectical,
1 thick central post with a thin line going across it,?
Just need too get out and zero it now.

I have a Kasnar Beta 3 which I am fairly sure was made by Pecar. It is an excellent scope, however be carefull if you have to clean the lenses the coatings are very soft and easy to scratch.
