Safety Wellingtons

Every pair of safety wellingtons I buy just split behind my toes after a few months. They dont get a lot of hard as I only use them when doing jobs at home and jobbing about on my small holding in wet conditions.
Are there any makes of wellingtons that last which are not designed for artic conditions that can be recommended.

Only one type of decent safety welly as far as I'm concerned: Dunlop purofort thermo. I wear them every day, winter and summer, for farm work. They outlast any other wellies I've ever had, and the soles of my feet don't get sore and cracked like they used to in cheaper wellies. I wear them on the mountain too, and they give a more secure footing on rock and scree than any walking boots I've worn.

I used to have to wear these when I worked on concrete plants, so can vouch for comfort and longevity. My pair are 10 years old now and my Mum wears them for doing the horses almost daily.
Dunlop Purofort +

Another plus for Dunlop Purofort. Still wearing the first pair I bought 4 years ago and they get worn most days of the week around the farm.

OK you've convinced me. I've just bought a pair :-)

Thanks for taking your time to give me your opinion, how do you find them for size. I'm a 10 but sometimes find some makes are rather large

I'm a large size 11. In walking boots or shoes I really need an 11.5. With these wellies an 11 fits me perfectly. Only thing I would say is that if you're not used to wearing steel toecapped wellies then that aspect can take bit of getting used to. Persevere.
