Pocket cartridge holder - 3D printed

looks good, after getting a printer I have made so much stuff for hunting reloading, the list is endless, even platforms for hunting Petg is superb for strength as well as being chemical and uv resistant, regards wayne

Why are you putting the o Ring so far down? It will be a sod to fit I would have thought. Would it not be better towards the top?
I can easily increase the wall thickness down there while keeping the overall size compact. There's not enough wall thickness up top for an o-ring without making it a lot bulkier.

I'll find out next week how the o-ring installation goes.

Well said, everyone is free to shop round for a better price If they think it’s too much, but having said that if I had a well thought out and we’ll produced product I’d be the one to set the price subject to market forces, oh hang on a minute, no one else is selling them, if you want one buy it ?

It looks like a bit of plastic but there is drawing it up trial and error then the length of time it takes to print decent quality as well as materials, so lots going on in the whole process
And dont forget the price of dies for an injection moulding machine for each size so they can be produced for pennies. About 12 to 15k per size should cover it if memory serves me right. :D

That may well be well off the mark these days, plus a new tool for each calibre with 3D methods only the CAD needs to change.

I can’t no. However my friend does 3D printing and has designed some that I would suggest are superior and will cost much less than these.....

great, never heard of them or seen them though, maybe he needs to promote his wares..... interested in what way they are superior, and would be interested in price, if these little details could be clarified it would add a little to the previous input.
I mean, I can make them out of solid gold for less, but then that’s just words, doesn’t mean much.....

I trust your words, could I have a load in 50cal please?

He will be advertising them shortly. A more structurally robust design and better functionality due to ergonomics will be the main draw for them. And they’re likely to be close to half the price From what he has indicated.....
I’ll also take an order of your solid gold ones please, that would be great

This sounds like a good idea but has already been done to a very high standard and supplied free by norma!
They used to supply their bullets a few years ago in really good holders that the bullets securely click into protecting the tip but can easily be released with one hand. Yours looks like it may take both hands. I carry my 6.5 x 47 in my jacket all the time though they would take 308/243. I guess they did them in other sizes.
They are fantastic but I only have three left so can't offer to give any away.
I'm sure there's some people on here with loads of them in the bottom of a draw!

i just don’t feel it’s the right place to be derailing someone else’s product and design by comparing to something that as yet doesn’t exist, and if it does, should have its own thread, no need for it really.

I do use these already and like them but it doesn't take much to dislodge the cartridge, especially since they're generic sizes and .223 size cartridges are a bit of a loose fit especially.

Mine will just require one hand (two fingers) to pull the cartridges out.

Time will tell if it's a good idea or not. The beauty of 3d printing is that I can make changes on the fly as required.

I won't sell them unless I'm happy that they're fit for purpose.

To be fair I merely stated that the price seems very steep for some plastic. A statement which I stand by. You are the one who decided to go on the offensive.
