Sig BDX System

I understand this is probably going to divide a lot of people on here, however...

I recently obtained a Sig Sauer Sierra 3 BDX scope to complement a pair of Sig Kilo 3000 BDX RF binos. Although the scope optically isn't up there with Swaro's or S&B, for the mere sum of £369 I can't complain, I've put it atop my foxing gun and had a play to see how accurate the BDX system was. Zeroed at 100m we went straight back to 300 yards and I was pleased to hear the steel gong ring out on the first shot with the correct holdover highlighted in the reticle, I repeated this shot after shot and was content the ballistic data I put in was accurate for continued use.

Does anybody else use the Sig BDX system? How are you finding it? I know there is a Sierra 6 BDX on the way maybe this will help address the reticle which my mate described as a Venetian blind!

I'd be keen to hear from any Swaro dS users too, maybe a meet up to compare?

I've just bought the 6.5-20x52 bdx scope. I'm awaiting delivery for a bit of fun. I'm hoping a second hand bdx rangefinder will come up in classifieds to pair it with but going to try it out with the pre set drop indicator for now.

I don't expect the glass to stand up to swaro/S&B but the price reflects that, and I never seem to be in the position to take last light shots and I have other things that need the money more than new glassware.

Guaranteed I'm going to see the the buck of a lifetime out at very last light on my first outing with it though....

Good to see I'm not alone, it was difficult to see any reviews of them before buying, the only information that is out there is from the launch events which is always going to be positive as they are pushing the product. Appears few people actually bought into the system which isn't surprising given the technology involved and the requirement of a Range Finder.

From my experience so far they seem an accurate ballistic solution for those that don't hunt right out until darkness, that being said it's not bad at all in low light, took mine lamping twice this week and not had any issues.

Hope you get that buck Mackay!

Yeah I figured at £395 for the 6.5-20x52 on optics warehouse it was worth a chance. Still got to buy that rangefinder though. Seems pretty good at the moment. Haven't mounted it yet as I've currently got nowhere to zero my rifle again due to livestock on my only permission at the moment. Soon as I get a chance to zero I will be putting it on the 270. Be a bit of a change from my old west German zeiss 1.5-6x42 thats for sure.

I'm glad yours is going well! What rifle have you got it on?

Yep, that was exactly my thought also, I saved up for the Vortex Fury HD 5000 RF bins but when I saw the Sig Kilo which would link with the scope I thought I'd get them instead.

Mine is sat on my .223 Sauer 100

I still can't quite believe it but this was 15minutes before last light. Picture through the scope was perfect!
