One of each would be nice! I've always liked stutzens myself but many hunters just don't get it.I waiting for a non stutzen, longer barrel to come up for sale, maybe 7x65r, or a 6.5x68 might tempt me![]()

Yes I have been following the Merkel k5 as well and they do look very nice. Our NZ agent has got one coming and is supposed to be here before Christmas but with what is going on in Europe and all the covid I will believe it when I see it landed. It would seem you are either a blaser man or a Merkel man but not both from reading many forum posts.Incidentally merkel have a K5 out which is very nice and just a touch over £3k. Very very similar to the K95 black edition![]()
My dealer sent me images of different wood, all grade 6 so I could choose the one I wanted, no problem at all with the order, just the expected 7 month waitThat's very good advice I will certainly look into doing that when I put the order in. Would be dam hard to sort out down here in nz should they get it wrong. I have yet to see a black edition with poor wood but anything can happen. Thanks again.
Good advice in hindsight wish I’d done this instead of the .308 however still in love with mineMy dealer sent me images of different wood, all grade 6 so I could choose the one I wanted, no problem at all with the order, just the expected 7 month wait
my advice would be to go for a rimmed case as they eject by tipping the rifle up, no need to get a finger in there to eject the case like a rimless case![]()
The worst think in the world, would be to wait 6 months + for your rifle to arrive, and when it does, you just don't like it !
Zeiss V8 personally but to be honest if you stick to the usual suspects you can't go wrong, its a personal thing, I did have Swarovski for years but liked the rail mount V8s so changed. May change back, who knows, ill never say neverWhat scopes are you folks fitting to these rifles?

I have a Swarovski Z3 2-9x42. Lovely light weight scope. What scopes are you folks fitting to these rifles?
Left handed? Looks lovely!View attachment 180143Late to party but well done I have exactly same rifle and have to say it’s a dream. It shoots RWS 162gr KS bullets as yours does. Recoil is very easy for such a light rifle.
Looks like you have already fallen in love with it!!
I had the same issue and moved to zeiss but others may find it perfect.Again, personal choice, but I use a Z8i 1.7-13.3x42, and it's great for the woods, or out to distance.
Others prefer something smaller and lighter.
I was quite keen on the Z6i 1.7-10x42, but for me, it came up short, and I couldn't get the correct eye relief, even with a railed scope.
Imagine how good it would be with a rail mounted 1.1-8x30!I had the same issue and moved to zeiss but others may find it perfect.
I use a V8 2.8-20x56 as in the video and pictured, doesn't come up too big but allows the gun to be a true low light allrounder and is well balanced which for my shooting is a must, the 3 Fallow today didn't complain, they may have done but the gun is unmoderated so i didn't hear
I have a 60mm V8 on my R8 and its great but went with the slightly lighter shorter scope on the K95, it is big compared to other scopes but all my shooting is in low light so its a case of form & function.
Imagine how good it would be with a rail mounted 1.1-8x30!
Is there any difference in scope height between the blaser ring mounts and the rail mount system. Just interested because a rail mounted scope would be a special order l would imagine down here in NZ ?Again, personal choice, but I use a Z8i 1.7-13.3x42, and it's great for the woods, or out to distance.
