CZ 527 magazine

My bad , I didn't twig 17 rem not fireball, duh, !
I looked up the cartridge diagrams in the LEE loading manual . It makes it easier to see where the possible hangup points would be ,the differences appear to be at the shoulder in the main and COAL . I would hazard a guess that the 1st round would be above the moulding for the shoulder in the mag the 2nd against it causing a feed issue . Unless there's enough meat at this point in the mag that can removed , I'm not sure what could be done .
If the 223 magazine will accommodate the 17 rem then the alternative is to try and source the bottom metal for that , admittedly not the ideal solution .

I had the same issues with a .17 Rem that I had built. There are two magazine well sizes from what I can gather. I spoke to Steve Kershaw and he confirmed that it will take quite a bit of machining to get that action to work. I ended up fitting it with a single shot adaptor and reloaded by dropping a round in through the ejection port each time. Not really a solution, but an answer that worked for me.

Hi,

I am looking for a magazine for my CZ527 .17rem. I can't find any for sale in the UK.
Would anybody know if the .204 ruger magazine would work with the .17rem round? Rifle Mags.co.uk has the .204 ruger magazine for sale. ://riflemags.co.uk/cz-527-5-round-magazine-204-ruger/
I have tried a .222 & .223 magazine's but it loads the first but the second gets stuck in the magazine.

Thanks

Hi do you just need a mag or is it a loading issue with the mags you have , I had loading issues with my 527 in 20-222 and on inspection found it was not the mag and I'm all sorted now

Thats exactly what's been done to mine, I drop one in from the top on to a Bob Sled and she'll load fine.

I think the brass gets caught in a .222 magazine by its shoulder but I could be wrong.

If it's anything like my old one, the first round fits in the mag but after that the shoulder hits the indent. I would have thought that if you hack that indent out with Dremel they will fit as long as you don't load them too long. I sold mine before I could be bothered to try that, I didn't use it that much and found something else I wanted.
