Sako S20

Never had any feeding issues and used it hard since getting it last Sep including up on Arran. Rattly mags quickly sorted with some Velcro patches and I’ve got the Sako HGR sling which works well. It is heavy and having a dS on it does not help but it’s compact and good to handle, especially with the F&D FW196 mod. Last picture shows the differences between my S20, 75 and X-Bolt. Overall, better that my 85 and makes my 75 look and feel old. Happy customer :thumb:

More on the 3HGR Sling: here

Had mine in 6.5CM with the precision stock and 24" barrel for a couple of months now, no feeding issues whatsoever with the 5 or 10 round magazine. Nor am I experiencing a rattle from the mag, in fact its a fairly tight fit in the mag well. Perhaps there is a bad batch of mags out there.

Love the QD sling attachment points, so much easier to remove a wet sling now, and a short picatinny rail under the forend means I can install a QD picatinny bipod in seconds that's a much more secure fit than my Harris type bipods, and less fiddly.

The forend is a little tight and requires a certain technique to remove, however I was probably being a little too careful with it (YouTube helps if unsure).

Splashed out on the dedicated S20 scope rings/rail with 20MOA cant, lightweight but very secure, perfect machining and anodising, I say 'splashed out' but was cheaper than something like a Tier One or Spuhr mount - and way lighter.

Overall a well thought out system that's very well put together. Just waiting for the .300WinMag version to land in the UK, shame they don't make it in 338LapMag.

Bet you hardly know it's there weightwise?
Yes you wouldn’t know it’s there weight wise.
Sound reduction it is not noticeable to my ears if it’s better or worse than an Atec Maxim was on my .243.
As a practical stalking moderator it is as near to perfect in real life use.
I have an Atec Maxim on my .222 and in the fullness of time I am pretty sure that I’ll replace it with another F&D 149.

Set one up for a chap and was quite smitten. It prints very tidy groups of less than 1\2 MOA on the 300 yard range. It was chambered in 243w and I would very much like to try one in Creedmoor.

Did you have to get different screws to add 6 spacers on the butt of the S20 or were the ones that come in the pack, think they’re 40mm, long enough?

Different stainless steel screws - I looked at the originals and just extended by the amount the spacers added. Sourced from either eBay or Amazon, I cannot remember which I’m afraid.
