I have been looking for an older German 'scope to fit on to my older German .22 rifle with 11mm grooved receiver, so I bought one from a friend.
On closer inspection at home I find that I have a Hensoldt of Wetzlar 4 x 32 Diasta, 26mm diameter steel tube, made in Germany (not West Germany). It has mounts to fit a grooved receiver, and the rear one is 11mm with a recoil lug but the front mount is 17mm! A closer look shows that the mounts are stamped SAKO, so I wonder if it was made for a particular Sako model back in the 1960s?
Are there any greybeards out there who might know what I have, please?
